Just saw that NC State's weekend series was cancelled due to Covid outbreak at VMI. Hope we get the series with them next weekend.

Miami lost to Florida 5-7. While I don't like Miami, I want the rpi points from them winning.
They picked up a double header on Sunday with Davidson, who also had their originally scheduled series cancelled. Will be interesting to see what that does to their weekend rotation.

Yeah GA State lost in extras to a ranked WVU team too.

Georgia State walked off WVU in game 1 of their double header today, and currently lead 18-1 in the 4th inning of game 2 (no that’s not a typo).

Tennessee hit a 2 run homer in the 9th inning of a tie game against Georgia Southern to win.

Georgia won both ends of their double header against Evansville after a walk off in game 2. Shifting the 4 game series into their favor. Game 4 tomorrow

No. 2 UCLA lost on Friday to San Francisco.

UConn beat No. 16 UVA today

North Florida beat No. 24 Florida State today

Texas A&M lost to Xavier in game 1 of their double header today

Missouri dropped their series with GCU after losing Friday and today

Part of what makes college baseball pure compared to football and basketball is simply in the nature of baseball. Anybody can beat anybody else on any given day. You never get that in football, and the only time you see it in basketball is during the NCAAT. Even then the underdogs are rarely as underpowered as some of the

I don't disagree, but with the way we pitched, it sounded ot me more like we beat ourselves, not that we got beat. That always is going to drive me nuts!

Our loss won't raise any eyebrows. Top 25 didn't look like top 25 this last weekend. Ouch to UCLA and Texas Tech though.

Must be a new thing as Stephen's is listed as 37 and Medich 55 on roster site and media guide.
Drops roster to 42 or did we lose others?

As we talked about in chat yesterday with @GT Bravo , I bounced the current roster from the NC State game against the roster from about a month ago.

We have 43 on the roster. Jack Friedman (RHP) and John Marant (OF) were no longer on the roster. As someone said, Medich appears to have #37 and Xander Stephens (LHP) is unaccounted for .......

And we have 23 players who realistically could pitch still on the roster (I didn't include Jenkins, Taylor or Grenkoski in that count)

How many travel? Did Roedig?...& could he be good to finish the game? Threw 50 or so pitches on Wed.
He's who I thought of as well to finish the game. I would think that he could, but I also don't know if Hall is willing to push him just yet because of the surgery. I think we'll see Smith or Mannelly try to finish this one.

Is this good or bad?
Good for our ranking but what about RPI

  1. #1 Ole Miss lost to @UCF_Baseball - Good for sec to lose OOC game for ranking but no direct rpi impact.
  2. #2 Vanderbilt lost to @GaStateBaseball - good for us since GaState worth more when we play them. Good for sec to lose
  3. #4 Louisville lost to @WIUBaseball - bad for us since L'Ville worth less when we play them.
  4. #5 Miami lost to @HokiesBaseball- push since we play both. But I thought that Miami was the bestest team ever after last weekends reviews. And to lose to some castrated turkeys at home.
  5. #6 Miss. State lost to @GreenWaveBSB - Good for sec to lose OOC game for ranking but no direct rpi impact.

Not only that but both Vandy and MSU needed B9 rallies to avoid losing their series yesterday. Believe both were down multiple runs heading into the B9 before pulling them out.

Think we should slot in around 7-8 in next week’s polls. And if we beat UL next week you could honestly make a case for us being #1. We’d have the best resumé in the country with series wins against two Top 15 teams and nobody in the current Top 10 is really crushing it.

That being said we did not cruise to the sweep today. Our staff looks better than previous years but still isn’t the lockdown bullpens you usually see from the really elite teams.

They got outs when they needed to though and that's really all that matters.

Finley looked elite in relief yesterday and went 3 innings. We also had multiple guys come into pressurr situations and immediately sit down the batter. Pretty sure we will have an elite pen when we look at the stats in a few weeks.
