Looking across the field from where I was sitting it looked as if MN folks filled the lower section of Ford Field similar to what the Tech sections looked like

Great to hear. I believe it was determined it was about equal travel distance from both locales...and of course both fanbases had to deal with it being on the 26th. Happy New Year.

Minnesota fans I met were great! Hung out with quite a few in the casino after the game. I honestly didn’t see many before the game. Attendance wise in Ford Field I’d say it was 50/50. Pretty good turnout for it being the 26th.

Yes, the ones we sat next too in the restaurant after the game were nice as well, more curious about the new coach than anything else.

Supersize and OldJacket and anyone else who went...how well do you think Minnesota traveled? We have the reputation of not traveling well to bowl games.

Glad you had decent company even with the outcome. Really hard to gauge on TV and haven't really seen it discussed up here.

Michigan State (Redbox). The school is 3 time Tech size, and 30k crowd.

I actually thought Tech had a little better showing at the QLB than Minnesota folks. I was quite surprised by the attendance at the Firebird. (Glad we got there early.) Thanks to the Detroit alumni who helped host that gathering.

That game was a hang over in the making. Good planning since u missed most of second half.

Of course, it should be noted that, based on the announced hot dog sales at Ford Field (yes, that really was a thing - a marketing tactic urging a hot dog eating competition between GT and UM fans), there may have been more Minnesota fans there. Then again, all the Tech fans had already eaten at the tavern before the game!
