I think Taggert is a good coach, and he would clean up in recruiting in Florida. However, I think FSU can do much better at HC than Taggert. That's not a shot at his coachign ability, it's just the truth.
FSU is a top 10 coaching job, and practically recruits itself. Even in FSU's "down" years, they were still pulling top 15-20 recruiting classes. Oregon wasn't exactly bereft of talent when he got there, and everyone knows they have all the resources a HC can ask for. They are afterall a de facto Nike program. Yet Taggert went just 7-5 there in his first year, and had a losing record in the PAC12.
FSU is not competing with the ACC programs, they are competing with national programs like Alabama, USC, Texas, Clemson, etc. If Taggert comes in and goes 9-3 or 8-4 every year, he'll be on his way out in 3 years. That's not the kind of coach FSU fans want...they want a coach that will keep them in the national conversation. IMO, Taggert is a good coach, but he will not do that.
