11/23 - MBB vs. #18 Cincinnati

This can only go on for so long before the recruits see he can’t coach and loses a ton of games every year. Don’t think this was a good hire and hopefully football helps us pay for a new coach after 2 years.

Team plays zero defense outside of maybe 10% of the plays when we are down by 15-20 pts. Can’t guard anyone and horrible at defending on ball screens.

No one has ability to create yet we want to run an iso NBA type offense. If im wrong, clip it, save it, great. But we are a bottom 3 ACC team if that.

Can't say that I blame Bryson Tiller, this team is void of high level basketball talent. Thinking another bottom 5 finish in the ACC is where we are heading

About 3 weeks ago I would have said I hoped we were a bubble team. Right now we are an ACC Tournament bubble team. The goal at this point is just to sneak a spot in Charlotte to get bounced the first day.

Cinncy lenghth , quickness, too much for slow jackets. Sad showing. Gave up tons or points in the paint. Very dissapointing.
Biggest overall weakness seems to be quickness, in O and D. Alvarado type needed.

Successful college basketball is VERY different from successful NBA ball.

McCollum was recruited as having superior quickness. Ndongo has excellent quickness. Kowacie Reeves has excellent quickness.

If the team is slow, it is between the ears.

Damon just seems way too passive to me to be a college coach. Maybe I’ll be proven wrong.

One of our players got demolished right in front of him, no call. Stoudamire didn’t even blink, not a word to ref. Players were unmotivated, no energy, stayed in game. Didn’t get an earful from ANY coach.

We were slower than a slow team. We’re gonna get curb stomped often if we don’t get a heartbeat. Just a sorry state of affairs.

Just check the drives to the paint. And other points in the paint. Sometimes you have to give up defending the 3 pter to prevent the points in the paint. Perhaps I'm wrong?? IMHO.

I thought about that. I wondered about focusing on just two players, George and which ever players were in the 5 spot. My reasoning was that I expected the interplay between those positions to be critical to each player’s development this year.

I missed the game today because I was out of town for son’s soccer, but I gave away 4 free tickets to a passionate GT alum. Unfortunately, he got to see a lousy game.

I was watching and listening through half time. Another terrible start. At one point in the first half, cincy had 27 points and 22 of them were in the paint. At about the same time GT had missed 8 out their last 9 shots.

Complete game stats show cincy shot 52%/41% and GT shot 35%/25%. Couldn’t score or defend.

You mean that drunk group yelling profanities and finally addressed by the police? Those with kids near them had to move. If I was a Bearcat alum I would have been embarrassed. The only thing they accomplished was making fools of themselves.
