And just so folks don't accuse me of making excuses for him, he needs to be better. He's left a lot of points on the floor just by rushing and/or turning the ball over. He's had guards against him in the post and just panics, seeing ghosts.
I’ve heard several announcers in games this year suggest that he face up the defender when he gets the ball rather than backing them down and shooting the hook shot. Doing so may allow him to use his athleticism to beat guys of the dribble more.

Nait has had moments, but I feel like he’s trying too hard to force the lob this year. Almost had a triple double today with 11 points, 10 assists, & 7 turnovers.
Yeah, teams are taking away the pnr but they're being stubborn. If it's not there, go with secondary attacks (for lack of a better phrase). Then, when the D adjust to those, go back to the bread 'n butter.

Simply explained but not easily done, I'll admit.

Pitiful. Just pitiful.
We start every game with sluggish play and turnovers. SMU's bigs dominated the paint, allowing SMU gaurds to play man to man at the 3 pt line. Their bigs just took Ndongo out of the game. As I've said before our biggest weakness is lack of a good 5 to take the pressure off Ndongo, who I believe could actually be a good 3. Coaching vs. players: coaching may be suspect, but we didn't have a single player that could have started for SMU, given their play today. Regarding coaching, I'm really not knowledgeabule enough to know what he is doing wrong. But we are a bad basketball team.
You’re right that we need a legit 5, but ndongo as a 3… please… no way… he can’t walk and chew gum at the same time, much less catch, pass, or dribble.

Speaking of announcers, why did that announcer say they Nait was the next in the line of great lefty point guards at Tech. It was 30 minutes into the game and he couldn’t even tell what his strong hand was. Likewise, Theo Pinson is tough to listen to. Very monotone.

I recorded this game to watch later. Sounds like I don’t need to now.

From what some of you have said it’s almost like Ndongo was counting on going pro last year and making a living. And when that didn’t happen he brought a sullen mood and an angry attitude into this season.

As the kids say. This team is cooked. It’s hard to be a GT fan. Especially over the last 25 years… smh…we should be better

It takes talent to win and we don't have the top 100 level players to be competitive. CDS is coaching them hard at practice, but it's not showing up on the games. Our guards are slow.

Powell was on Sacramento State last year, so definitely not. Oklahoma is borderline Top 25 and SEC is the conference to watch though. I don't know what his relationship w/ Moser was like but I'm guessing we tampered a bit to get him. I get the appeal for Javian to CDS also - similarly sized, scrappy guards during their playing career.
Good call with Oklahoma. They lost by 10 to Georgia.

Remember when GT basketball was THE game in town? Seems like a lifetime ago now….our path back to relevancy is getting harder and harder with each passing day.
It was a lifetime ago. Well over 30 years. Ever since Bobby did his South Carolina and return thing in the early 1990s save a few good years.

Yeah, we keep hanging onto the days when GT basketball was revered nationally hoping we’ll return to that. I think I’ve finally lost hope of that ever happening.

Average record of 15-16 over the past 20 years. By contrast the average record was 22-10 during the five years I was a student. Little did I know that would be the peak during my lifetime. I am glad I went to the final four in Denver, don't see that happening again.....

I empathize with you. I was a student in late 80s and early 90s. Went to all 3 final fours to include the NIT game in Pastner's first year. Right now we just need to get back to consistent respectability. Maybe CDS gets us there but this isnt going to be the year we turn the arrow upward.
