The other question I've not seen asked, for those in the camp who believe we need 55-60k seats, is why do we have to have any building in the NE corner compromising the stadium architecture? Couldn't we find another property nearby (or at least on campus) to host whatever facilities are planned...

Yeah, In my opinion we don't need 55k seats, not based on current trends, but we have consistently pulled 40k+. If we're close to what we had circa 1990, which I think was 46k, would be enough I think.

Agree. The thing is the new building won't be as tall as Edge, so will always look a bit this way...

Coming along. Honestly would look better if we went all the way and took out the entire upper section of the North stands, but I understand why they don't want to go that far. If that's removed the stadium looks much more clean/ symmetrical.

Exactly. It's no longer about how many seats you can cram into a space. It's about the amenities and the overall game experience. You see this in MLB and with a lot of the new CFB stadiums.

Attendance is down a lot of places, across a range of sports, due to high def wall to wall TV coverage as well. As someone who was a student at Tech in the early 90's I kinda wish we could downsize BDS a bit just to improve the atmosphere since I also think we'll never really sellout a 55k...

We don't have season tickets because of where we live, but sit in 103 at least one game per season. Doing this since 2006 or so.
