Almiron leaving hurt more than Pity Martinez joining the squad helped. Frank de Boer made better use of his talent later in the year, but that was also when the team asked him to change the style of play. I haven't given up on de Boer yet, just not convinced he is the best man for the job...

Should have emptied the bench, played walk ons, and let the starters earn their starts back in practice. Saw enough of this kind of play in 1980-81, except they sustained it for a full season.

Agree, it's one game. Hopefully the team and coaches are better prepared going forward. There is still plenty of time to put the Syracuse debacle behind us. Every team has 2 or 3 WTF games over the course of a season, not just us.
