  1. Pre and Post Notre Dame Comments

Not a zero sum game. The hope is that we can sign and develop better players.
  2. Pre and Post Notre Dame Comments

We just had the best year in recent history and we were unable to turn that into a good 2022 signing class… not even able to sign a player so far. Recruiting is part of the job, and our inability to do it means we are going to have to develop at a elite level every year…. That’s a hard way to...
  3. Pre and Post Notre Dame Comments

Did we extend Pastner after last season? He’s not a bad coach, but his inability to acquire talent consistently is troubling.
  4. Transfer Portal: Who's Coming and Going (2022 Roster)

This isn’t a shot at the original poster, but I’m not sure why the Tech media put it out there that having two secondary coaches led to a lack of communication. Most places have two secondary coaches. Even saw that Mississippi State has 3 on-field secondary coaches. Five db’s regularly play and...
  5. Transfer Portal: Who's Coming and Going (2022 Roster)

None of it made financial sense. From the Miami gym paying everyone at the U, to DJU getting a Dr. Pepper commercial, to Quinn Ewers getting a million to skip his SR year of high school to take a couple snaps at Ohio State. Things will self correct a bit, but top guys will continue to get paid…...
  6. GT vs. USC in Phoenix

Last 3 games sucked but we shouldn’t be that outmatched from a talent standpoint against most ACC teams. It’s also clear the older guys don’t think highly off Coleman and Kelly. They routinely don’t pass them the ball when open. Hopefully there is more trust as the season goes on, and we are...
  7. Transfer Portal: Who's Coming and Going (2022 Roster)

They had Taylor Martinez at qb who played there in the early parts of the last decade. Hard to distinguish one from the other.
  8. Next RB coach for GT?

Random name but what about Jaybo Shaw? Young high school head coach probably wanting to get a chance to be a power 5 coach.
  9. Jackets vs. LSU 12/11, 6PM

Losses in recruiting matter. Partner has shown that he and this staff can coach/develop, but the misses in recruiting limit us. Against the LSU’s and UNC’s there’s an athletic gap that coaching can’t overcome. Transfer portal helps, but we aren’t getting the best players there either.
  10. RIP Demaryius Thomas

  11. Harrison Bailey

He was a four star most of his high school recruitment and got a fifth star in the final rivals rankings due to his team going undefeated. Throwing to Arik Gilbert and Ricky White(4 star at Michigan State) also had a a 4 star receiver a class ahead of them that went to Tennessee. We recruited...
  12. Stetson game

It’s still early, but we are playing too many guys who are turnover prone. Usher playing wild, Devoe doing too much, young guys traveling and stepping out of bounds. We are going to lose games if we don’t get the turnovers under control. We need Bubba more than I realized before. Doesn’t need...
  13. Tip Off Tomorrow Miami of Ohio

Beginning of a long season. A year ago we were all convinced Pastner was not the guy after losses to State and Mercer following a disappointing first four seasons. The finally put it together in year five. Really open that last season was not the anomaly.
  14. Transfer Impact 2021

When it comes to transfers, I think the preference is to get a guy who is older, has played and started elsewhere. With Cimaglia, Cochran, Eley, McGowan, Ryan Johnson, even Clayton we had a really good idea what we were getting. When you get young transfers who haven’t played, you don’t really...
  15. #GTvsMIA Postgame. Tech falls short 33-30

Recruits just don’t think that way. If they see guys at their position not playing well, the mindset for an 18 year old coming in is that he will change that. Kids start decommiting when the entire fanbase has turned on the coach publicly.
  16. #GTvsMIA Postgame. Tech falls short 33-30

Sims had a bad game. And he’s had other bad games but not like this. Intermediate passes were off. Wasn’t even looking deep most of the game. Maybe the game plan was to not attack their secondary deep. But it’s one game, on to next week and evaluate the state of the qb position after the season.
  17. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

When we win, the CGC faction gets excited about the direction of the program. When we lose the CGC detractors are ready to fire him. Can we be less Jekyll and Hyde? The coaching is not good, but Collins was brought in to improve the talent and he’s done just that and continues to do that when...
  18. Collins’ salary 56th among FBS coaches USA Today Report

Are we going to act like there aren’t any unintended consequences by keeping a coach that’s failing? Lost revenue from ticket sales, less donations, and while a few bad seasons is a short time, it’s not that short when you’re a college student. If the team is bad while you’re a student, how...
  19. Collins’ salary 56th among FBS coaches USA Today Report

Hard to rationalize our expectations as a fanbase given the financial limitations of the athletic department.
