  1. When it’s all said & done: J.Gibbs

Laskey made a big jump from 2013 to 2014. He hit the hole a lot lower and he was patient to let the line engage (or cut) before driving forward to maximize his yardage. Gibbs just isn’t there yet and in his defense our O line blocking has been very inconsistent. In 2014 it was pretty easy to...
  2. When it’s all said & done: J.Gibbs

Gibbs has more natural talent than most of the backs we have had at GT. He still has technique things to work on to be great. I’d rather have the 2014 Senior version of Laskey than Gibbs at this point in time but Gibbs can be elite in time as his technique matures. This isn’t a dig at Gibbs or...
  3. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Somebody that wants a shot at being HC when Collins is fired.
  4. Everybody wants to hold the baby. Nobody wants to go through labor.

I really enjoyed your post @ilovetheoption and your perspective. At this point I am ready to end the experiment. I think (and I have said) Collins’ recruiting classes are mediocre. We are just getting talent that “fits the mold” and are therefore rated higher. Is Gibbs really good? Yes, but so...

2013-2016 was the Bobinski era…. The person I hold responsible for a lot of our issues.
  6. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

No - He hired Collins to run his defense. I don’t want any part of the Collins tree

Everyone dogs on the flexbone, but 6 of the top 10 teams in the country use elements of it. Go count how many times OK St lined up in the inverted veer formation last night. It was in the shotgun but it’s the same stuff we ran with Vad.

I don’t believe that. The “people” that wanted CPJ out financially strangled the program and he won in spite of it. If they really wanted success the recruiting staff would have been in place long ago. It would have been a cheap investment that would have probably led to more wins. It just...
  9. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Aside from financial reasons, does anyone want to keep Collins? I would like to understand that point of view. It seems that most on the board are aligned that he should go, but I am interested in the opinion of people that think he deserves more time.
  10. Ranking Geoff Collins 10 Best Wins

A while back I said Leach would win 10 games at MSST before Collins (CGC had a year head start) did at GT. This was during the Collins hype phase. Someone on this board wanted to bet me. Leach has won 11 at MSST. I agree his biggest win was with Tstan. Unfortunately that was another L for GT.

I don’t know what we are sowing now, but we are reaping about 1 *** whipping a week.
  12. #NDvsGT 55 to Zero

Defenses definitely have it figured out better than our offense does. A timeout, followed by a delay of game, followed by an early snap… that series was epic

What I mean is insert him in a position between Tstan and Collins. Let him approve the assistant coaching hires. I do mean bringing him in as head ball coach. Collins has made this such a mess we need someone to make the decisions regarding the actual program. We have no choice but to retain...

It’s worth considering bringing a coach out of retirement like Spurrier with the said purpose of building the actual program over a couple years until we can afford an actual coach.
  15. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

I am starting to think we are better off without a head coach than we are with Collins.
  16. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

I heard it second hand from a source I trust, but I won’t pretend I have in depth inside knowledge. I think perhaps the relationship was a bit rocky during the retirement announcement. Maybe disjointed is a better way to put it. I think they had a good relationship overall, but CPJ and Tstan...
  17. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

I personally have issues with the contracts he hands out. Maybe some of that really isn’t him. I had the same issue with D Rad, but Tstan and D Rad are light years better than the moron in the middle. I think Tstan had a good relationship with CPJ and could have used his help with the coaching...
