The only thing that keeps me slightly in the don't fire yet range is the DT commit from this cycle. CGC and Thrasher's defense really depends on DT play, but I have little faith left.

I was discussing this topic with @CuseJacket in another thread, and maybe it deserves it's own conversation. I think CGC and his staff have done a pretty decent job in the recruiting department. I'm not just basing this off of the class rankings, but the multiple 4 star recruits in one class...

Last year, Jordan pretty much only went into games after the team's sole was crushed and defeat was all but certain. We got to see him play a game with the hope of winning still there. That makes a big difference.

Thacker's interview was much better. I think he will have the guys ready on defense. Did pretty well at Temple vs Army and Navy. They played very discipline and mixed up blitzing the mesh pretty well (probably what he meant by complex not complicated). Looked allot like how VT used to play us...

At least he admitted that there aren't many guys from the previous staff left on the roster around the 7:30 mark so he's on record of saying that. Maybe he'll stop using that as an excuse now (not holding my breathe).

I honestly would have been pretty dang upset still if we had won the game, but played it close. Do you think we, in year 3, should be playing on par with a team from MAC that was winless last year? This should be a game where the "depth" issue doesn't drop off until the 3rd and 4th string unit...
