IMO overstated and contrary to what our coach and players have said about him.
I agree that he looked wild, but (as a former catcher) I wouldn't go this far on one bad outing. His arm action is fine (not as pure as LJs but better than the other two) and the reports have been that he can throw.
I think I see what you see, and I don't disagree with the order if it's TM1, LJ1A, JJ1b and PJ had to think about 1b. But I have no inside info beyond the oracles on this board..
I'm guessing MJ it's bc his shoulder is banged up and skels may be more of a defensive drill for Tech. Re TM, sure, all conspiracy theories accepted.
Here's a worse one. LJ gives the best Dormady/Guarantano look. ;)
I'm with you on the forgetfulness. I just don't agree that JJ is not a real factor to play against Tennessee. Unless I am missing something (perhaps some insider stuff) I haven't seen enough public reps or comments to know that LJ has gotten preferential reps. Glad to actually know who's...
What CPJ said [and did] was: "i think Jay's a quarterback. I think Jay's going to be a really good quarterback at some point. If it's not this year, it'll be sometime but he's got a ton of ability -- just gotta harness it [harness move]. Like I said, harness it and knock out the negative...
Mine comes from Dedrick and CPJ gushing with big smiles on their faces, and Brandt unprompted saying he's going to be a big part of our offense this year.
Also, I have a learned bias towards QBs who were recruited by Alabama to play something besides QB.
Our offense is unique, no quotes about it. And yes, I am suggesting it is a valid question we ask in our D/roof threads. Not saying that I know it -- whatever the conclusion might be -- to be true.
Good points re scout.
Restated -- our O is all our D sees live in spring and fall camp. It's so different that opposing coaches often quarantine their prep for it and add Tech periods to spring and fall camp. Does our D's exposure to our O at the expense of more common Os have a material...
Do you believe repping against CPJ's offense 80/20 contributes to our struggles covering a full route tree, fitting against zone schemes, etc. IMO, it's a question of extent / degree.
Yeah, the forward pass was a big part of our O last year.
Maybe we repped lots of interior run stuff and not as much throwing bc CPJ thought it would unfold with MJ as the starter.
