Last year, App St had a game like this on D against ULM, but their D was strong for the season and were lights out in their bowl game. In 2014, our D had a game like this against GS (apart from DJs fumble force). Deciding the season on one game is foolish, imo.

Fwiw, Brant Mitchell was elected a captain by the team and has been praised as a leader and player by his fellow players. The suggestion that he is just being played out of "favoritism" is insulting and uncalled for, imo.

I agree 100% with what he said. Fans who say we suck and who gave up on CPJ aftet that game are stupid and beneath contempt, imo. That being said, we need our players to show it not say it. It was not a good performance, and they need to own that. Some fans are childish and react only...

This is a game where it would be interesting if CPJ didn't substitute on O and just signaled in the plays. Keep their D from substituting.

App St has a play where the QB moves down the line talking to the linemen and then stops and sets. The ball is then snapped to a running back. We'd have to develop a pattern of checking plays this way and play our BBack in 2pt stance some plays, but it's a fun play.

This is what I want changed this year. I really want our D to get enough stops that our O doesn't have to score on almost every possession to win.

I'm looking for us to score at least 2.8 pts/dr and allow fewer than 1.9. So, I'd be ok with 33 to 23. However, I think we are more improved. 39 to 17.
