  1. Pittsburgh (-8) vs. Georgia Tech

The prediction about our games have all seemed about right to me and so does this one. Pitt is another team we could beat with a good complete game. Unfortunately, we seem to be underperforming consistently. Maybe this time is the charm!
  2. Flu Numbers This Year due to Covid

I remember Fauci saying early on that COVID would help with the flu, for the reasons given above. He couldn't suppress a small smile at that; he and the entire epidemiological community around the world has been trying to get people to wear masks and wash their hands during flu season for...
  3. Need An Understanding On QB Play

Bingo. We have to remember that he is a freshman and learning new thongs. Brand new QBs - shoot, even some experienced ones - often have a hard time running through their progressions. I do think he puts a bit too much trust in his release. He can throw, but he's no Namath. He needs the coaches...

or You were saying? Look, neither of them were real houses-on-fire throwing the ball; we recruited them mainly because they could run (and could they ever). But both of them could throw if they had the time. Btw, it would be fun to see Stewart and Lynch on our team now. They never really...

And Quaid got a season ending injury too. We lost both our prospective starting and backup BBs in 2015 right before the season started. Hard to come back from that. But CJ was slated for 2015, not 14. Injuries and transfers spoiled the schedule for starting BBs too. I'm guessing on all this...
  6. Ga Tech Placekicking Problems

The bottom line here is that, apparently, nobody on the coaching staff knows how to coach place kickers. If they did, we wouldn't have the continuing problems we've been having. The legs have been ok, both this year and last. This needs to be fixed.

Yesssss. Why isn't Sims running the ball more? If he could establish a run threat the entire offense would work better. I understand why they want to protect him against injury, but the best way to do that is to get the D back on their heels a bit by letting him run the occasional draw/QB...

You're right. It was 8.2 ypc. See: https://data.ramblinwreck.com/stats/football/2018/gt090818.htm Mason did ok in relief, but I bet Benson would have done even better if he had continued to play. And I bet we would have won. Almost did anyway.
  9. A Thread to Rehash GT HC Comparisons

He was averaging 10 YPC when he got hurt against UCF; he stays healthy and we win. We beat Pitt with him at BB; they won 24 - 19, largely because Howard and Mason didn't know what they were doing yet. There you go.

You left out Benson getting sidelined by injury for the season in 2018. Benson back means 2 more wins.
  11. A Thread to Rehash GT HC Comparisons

Tha problem with this analysis is that we were winning before. Paul had two losing seasons. Now, as you may have noticed, we aren't. When you are winning it is easy to say - and usually true, btw - that when you lose it is because of the breaks or because you ran into a better team. And all that...
  12. Ga Tech Placekicking Problems

Given how low the kicks are coming out, I don't think Saban could make much difference. Of course, Wesley Welles is still on campus …
  13. GT - ND postgame thread

My tv and net have been out for the last couple of days, so I won't do any big whoop analysis of what happened Saturday. The simple answer is that we ran into a team that is a lot better then we are. They didn't take many risks; long methodical drives for the most part. The had 9 TFLs and 5...
  14. GT - ND postgame thread

We have actually way "out recruited" on D over the last few years; a good number of Paul's (well, ok, Ted's) 4 star recruits were on D. We've had some injuries/deaths this year and last (Brandon, then CK) that really hurt, but we have the players to do well on D. I also agree that scheme isn't...

Yes. This has been another in a series of simple answers to simple questions.
  16. College Football in 2020 is an Aberration

Hadn't heard that. And I suppose this simply leaves the PAC 12 out? Or did they figure out how to get them in under the wire?
  17. College Football in 2020 is an Aberration

That would not surprise me one bit. The PAC 12 won't even start for another month. The Big 10 just started. There won't be any conference championship games for most of the P5 (don't know about the SEC). I don't know how any kind of decision could be made about the playoffs until - probably -...
  18. College Football in 2020 is an Aberration

I don't see how anybody could call this anything but an aberrational season. It has been weird from the start and will be until the finish. With any kind of luck we'll get through it without a major COVID outbreak on the team and pick up just enough experience to being to play better next year...
