I don't think its meaningless but I think the argument the article is trying to make falls short because it does not connect the dots to its conclusion. Unless I'm mistaken it trying to saying that aggressive defenses are better defenses. But until you compare the stats they are showing to...
I don't mind the thought but it's missing a step. It needs to be compared to ppd. If the teams that are off the field quickly, ie under six plays, are the top in ppd then yah you have something. Otherwise its honestly not telling you anything. You are simply left to infer that its...
So I have a question and maybe I'm missing it... If a team gives up a TD on the 2nd offensive play, ie before 2 first downs, that would be added as a plus in the statistic? Because if that is not accounted for then its a serious issue.
Another team I was thinking about was late 80's and early 90's Oiler's. They were already a run and shoot team you put 2 of your smaller wrs as a backs and you could have Lorenzo White or Mike Rozier as your b back. I remember Moon being pretty athletic but maybe not at that point in his...
I did not even think about them. The Steeler team I was actually thinking about was from the 70s. Bradshaw was a pretty good athlete at qb. You could have Franco Harris at B back Rocky Bleir at one of the abacks. Swan and Stallworth at wr and the offensive line was quick and strong. Yah...
Do they still sell Jerseys with Numbers other than the year it is any more. I seem to remember that was a fall out from the lawsuits that former players had.
That would be nice to have moss and would be an interesting topic in and of itself. You would be able to choose the QB and make a team with all the players he played with. About the eagles would you move Keith Jackson out to WR because otherwise he would have limited playing time. Also would...
Talent everywhere on those teams. A question though. Are you talking early 70's or late? Not that you would have to choose but just wondering. If late then would you try to use Dorsett as the B back or put him as an A. If you put him as your a back who would you use as your back? Newhouse...
Steve Young was more than mobile enough. Did you ever see that run he had against Minnesota in like 86 or 87 when Montana was injured? He ran in and out of the defense and went for about 80 yds. Also When Steve was at BYU and ran scout team as Air force everyone said that there defense could...
It's a good answer, it was one of the teams I was actually think of, but would the o-line be good enough? Good may not be the right word. Would the o-line be mobile enough to due the blocking required. Also how would the WR compare.
That being said Duckett would be a great b back and Vick...
So it's the offseason and I don't think I've seen this take on this topic but have been thinking about this for a couple of years.
If you had to use CPJ offense in the NFL which historic team would you take and what players would you play where? ie. you could choose the 49ers in the late 80's...
Ah wasn't thinking of the statement that way. The biggest problem I have with playing within the gray area of the rules is the possibility of becoming reliant of playing in that area. If you do and the officials calling it much closer to the actual rules then you are screwed.
