Ha, Serratos had the first two plays of the game at CF. He caught them, but it was not extremely graceful.
Also, Colin Hall did get a single, so that’s a good sign!!
Honestly would’ve preferred Serratos in RF over Hall as our defense may really hurt in the OF tonight. Neither Wilhite or Hall are hitting well, so I would’ve stuck with the better defender.
Hopefully Hall will prove me wrong and break out of this slump!
Earlier in the season he was only available on Sundays to give him time to recover from his previous midweek start. He definitely should’ve been in either last night or today and we could have worried about Wednesday’s game when it gets here. Unless his arm just didn’t feel fresh this weekend.
And that has to put Serratos at 1B, right? I think the only option would be like the NL teams...gonna have to be smart with pinch hitters and possibly double switches. Unless there’s some rule that might allow English to take the DH spot when he comes out and we put Bart at C and McCann at 1B?
Guldberg has a throwing arm issue so he can’t play in the field right now. To get his bat in the lineup, he could only play DH which belongs to English at this point.
I’m serious when I say that surely Serratos or Waddell could be a serviceable OF defensively and at this point seem to give us a...
McCann had a chance to get the runner going to 3B on the sac bunt very easily, but never even looked that way. I do wish CDH would’ve let CT try to get out of it. This ump has been pretty bad for us the last few innings.
Down 3-2 now after a wild pitch/passed ball (not sure which) then ground...
You forgot to put Clemson’s and UNC’s losses from last night in there. They’re both sitting at 10-6. Wow on the Miami comeback...I had stopped paying attention to that score.
Duke is legit. They had several guys really do well in the Cape Cod league last summer. It’ll be interesting to see if...
The it’s showed some resiliency and battled those last couple of innings after sleepwalking through the first 7. We even overcame some coaching (bunting with Bailey and no outs and bottom of order behind him; however I do give some credit on bringing in Waddell to PH).
Let’s get after them...
So every once in a while, I get to have a talk with someone who knows players and get a “little bit” of info. I was told Guldberg may be out a couple of weeks due to a lingering injury. Murray has been cleared and should be good to go this weekend. That’s all I’ve got. Some good with the bad.
If my math is correct, Colin Hall (2-21) and Nick Wilhite (2-23) are a combined 4-44 over the last 6 games. Radcliffe is 1-12 in the same stretch. Guldberg is 4-9 in those same games.
Not including Murray who has played approximately 7 innings total in those games, our OF is 9-67 in the last 6...
