Best defensive end depth in years will help provide a strong consistent pass rush through games, plus a seasoned secondary should give us one of the best pass defenses we’ve had in a while.
Going with 10 myself. Mason and Griffin should get the ball in goal line situations to power through for extra yard(s). Teams will also key on Gibbs, so we will take advantage and use him as a decoy opening up opportunities for our other playmakers like we did with Calvin.
I believe Devin Cochran will be the most important player for us this year and we need to take full advantage of it. Locking down Sims blind side will give him the time and confidence to go through his progressions, footwork and throwing motion to help reach 60%completion rate.
Looked like we were really trying to spread the ball out quite a bit. Targeting the TEs and RBs alot more in pass game. Regarding WRs, Avery Boyd looks the part of a #1 and appeared to be the favorite target there. McGown looks like he will easily fill Browns shoes as the gadget guy on O. Alot...
We need to win 6 games and bowl this year. If not 2022 looks even rougher on the schedule and we lose at least 3 Sr Oline, entire def backfield and probably some of the transfers if they have a good season and turn pro.
I think it was the Orange bowl and Musburger was commenting on Darren Waller saying “does GT grow these freak WR’s in a lab?” Calvin Johnson, Demaryius Thomas, Stephen Hill, Darren Waller and now Jalen Camp. Hopefully he can make a big splash and continue the WRU legacy.
We can get him touches in the pass game and return game as well. Don’t want our opponents keying on him every play. Im actually hoping CDP has designed some good distraction plays using Gibbs to draw defenses away and punish them, thus giving Gibbs even more room to operate on designed runs...
Was about to post this, we have an embarrassment of riches. That 3.5 increase in vert is huge, if you thought Smith was explosive last year... imagine now. We need 70 snaps per game to at least get 40 carries for our RBs 10 each, Gibbs, Mason, Smith and Griffin. Then 30 for passes.
