  1. Kickoff times for first three weeks set

Pleasantly suprised to see Alcorn St won their conference last year. I prefer to get in reps against a decent team so hopefully they will be decent again. Anyone know if Tulane returns much?
  2. "ACC Title Game Helped Draw Skov to Tech..." AJC

Yup...just rewatched UGA game. Real TEAM win. Lots of guys doing their part, doing their dirty work and enjoying it. So many guys played key roles. Skov will be a great teammate...whether he plays a down of BB or rocks it on special teams. You want guys like that around. Speed to the hole and...
  3. 83 Schollies

Just saw where Blake Countess is leav8ng Michigan as graduate transfer.
  4. 83 Schollies

How / when did Benson tear his ACL?
  5. Gt football trending upward?

Depth was encouraging last year. Seems different though there are many areas still to address.
  6. B Back Transfer - Patrick Skov

Main thing is get the mesh point right, get to it to it quickly, and hang onto the ball. Beyond that a lot of styles will work. Laskey and Days were both highly effective. Skov's potential upsides are blocking and power running. From HS film looks like he can take a little outlet pass too.
  7. Why the 2015 Defense Will Be Improved

No not a GT player...played D-3 ball on a playoff team in late 80s ( 20 spots for at the time 350 schools). Defense was nationally ranked and D-coordinator was amazing. Mostly just a huge GT fan and really appreciate the work the players put in on and off the field. My father was a stands...
  8. Who Surprisingly Steps Up From Spring To Fall?

Didn't realize that about Messick and blocking Techster. That is very encouraging to hear! It shows a guy who wants to work and has the will to get it done. I saw Jeune play some last year but never saw Messick except in mop up time. But I don't always watch that position carefully to see who's...
  9. Why the 2015 Defense Will Be Improved

After rewatching Ga So. there's no question in my mind that we improved on defense throughout last season. As the season went on our fundamentals--angles, tackling, assignments--got much better throughout the year. Isiah in particular was playing lights out by the end of the year. So to me even...
  10. Who Surprisingly Steps Up From Spring To Fall?

I'm hoping Clinton Lynch and/or Qua Searcy will breakout. Or Cottrell comes in with familiarity from lead blocking the veer is HS and picks things up fast. I like Snoddy, Andrews, and Ike, but we need 2-3 more A backs we can count on. I'd like to see Messick catch up with Jeune & Summers as...
  11. B Back Transfer - Patrick Skov

Booyah! Skov and his bother are football players. Thats what you want at B Back...a certain mentality. Dude is big and physical...a guy you want to go to war with and who will give max effort. I love having tough MF's at that position. Plus he's a high quality person like a Synjyn who will be...
  12. Defense in 2015

Vic Alexander IMO is a possible defensive X factor for next year. Wouldnt suprise me if he doesnt redshirt and gets minutes on D and ST. He's whoopass in a can.
  13. GT-UCF in 2017 and 2020

    Good for recruiting Florida!
  14. Clemson Crossover Game

Count all crossovers except rivalry game. If it's really a rival game no conference incentive is needed. There...fixed.
  15. B Back Transfer - Patrick Skov

He's known to be a good ST player. Also knows how to block in pass pro already and run block. Add in a mature body, smarts, and fact he was counted on to get tough yards on goal line, plus our need at BB and you get what Skov is: A low risk transfer who one way or another is going to...
  16. Defense in 2015

No proven edge rusher is still concerning, as is depth...though better than last year. If we could get a 4 man rotation at DT without much drop off and get another edge rusher who can ball we'll be cookin' with grease. Particularly if Rook-Chungong, Stargel, Merriweather, or St. Amour can...
  17. Observations

IMO with CJ and Quaide and MLD coming in and WR--where TWO are on the field at a time and 4-5 typically rotate it makes sense MA would play at WR. Lose CJ and Quaide and it then makes sense to play MA at BB. We are lucky that MA like Synjyn is versatile. Seems like PJ was already running plays...
  18. Observations

Wouldnt suprise me if Martinson was #3 right now. Jordan has a high ceiling though and just needs reps.
  19. Georgia Tech Spring Game Thread

Hard to evaluate Jordan as the blocking was atrocious.
  20. CJ Leggett injured?

That's awful news. Good kid, deserves better. Here's hoping to successful surgury and a strong recovery.
