I will never understand why he would do that.
But I respect the hell out of him. It's sad to watch someone in leadership who is really good, just tank.
I'm just as annoyed as you are believe me. I'm certainly not on the hype train, nor was I ever. This is the way I see the decision making process through TStan's pov. And keep in mind, my expectation is not moderate improvement next year, but significant (8 wins or better). Anything less then 8...
I mean that's a possibility as well.
Don't you think it's possible the other way around?
Look I'm the last person who is going to defend CGC, but I'm trying to look at this all rationally.
I would hope and guess that TStan is giving CGC one final year and hope he's making it clear. If that's the case, it's a smart move as it increases the budget for a bigger hire if necessary next year, but also gives his guy a chance to turn it around. Plus there's lots of other openings right...
That is indeed how it was setup. And hopefully it can still work out that way and turn this thing around.
I just think many who guessed 3-4 wins at the beginning of the season did so because of the perceived top 5(or whatever) SOS. Seeing as how the schedule was actually infinitely more...
Lol, this is why we can't have nice things. The mentality like this helped negative recruit against us when we had momentum.
Hopefully this type of thinking goes away with the next successful coach (or CGC if he turns things around).
I also just remembered we won 7 games (a mythical occurrence to the CGC crew) that season and took the gagers to overtime. How close do you think the score will this weekend?
