Playing the Freshmen in the Remaining Games

I hope it was more of a hopeful joke, since Graham is also right handed. I want to see him play when he is ready, since I believe he is the most talented QB on the roster. I believe we can win against UVA with TM or TO, but if he'll help us win that one and UGA, then he should play. UGA...

    Tech v duh U postgame!

They aligned daring us to run veer and midline and were stunting the read key. Tevin would have hung 40 on them. Good enough all around tho! PS I want Juanyeh in for a package in O if we arent going to play him more snaps on D.

    FEI Off/Def/SpT Rankings 2018

Thanks for professoring this. It seems some folks still anchor on ppg, which is, I guess, not surprising since our O makes the final score look like a game with more possessions. Also, folks may have gotten used to bad defense -- e.g. "getting some stops" or "enough to win" is good defense...

    Marshall to start versus UNC...

CPJ can solve for all this with first play TM at AB throwback to TO for the score. It is almost certainly in the playbook.

    Marshall to start versus UNC...

I hope he is trying to keep them both motivated. It seems nuts to start anyone but TO after that game and the season. He now leads the team in TDs and rushing.

In Focus, DE Anree Saint-Amour and both BBacks

Duke has the all acc Mike. Probably non obvious to base a game plan around a slow developing QB load / sweep with a freshman running back responsible for protecting TMs candy shell. I think this was the tobias offense. CPJ can pretend it's the same but TM doesnt hit north south well enough for...

    Tobias Oliver: The Passer

I just don't see how you could start anyone else after that game. Obviously, past performance is no indicator of current success, but how could you not.

    FEI Off/Def/SpT Rankings 2018

AFAIK FEI does not adjust for "sudden change", which is implicitly a turnover penalty if your defense sucks at sudden change, which we do. It does adjust for field position differences but I think it's agnostic on turnovers.

    Question for the experts...Unbalanced line

I dont gamble but this is a losing bet.

    Tobias Oliver: The Passer

I'll bite... If he (and the OL, WR, etc) were a downfield throwing threat, there wouldn't be 8.5 guys in the box lighting our mesh and pitch lanes up. It's not his fault -- he is one of our most talented players -- but he is not able to hit the passes needed to keep the numerical advantage in...

    Duke rush defense

Screening an overload blitz up the middle is dangerous with a 5' 10" under center QB. I like the crack RT and the belly/G series to slow that stuff down, and we have the guards to do it well. Against Army, Duke played a lot of 7 man fronts. If they do that against us, we'll bust some big runs...

What to do with Bruce Swilling?

I still don't know why 51 doesn't rotate when so many other positions are revolving doors. If it's because he calls the plays and checks, then that's a system problem.

the tackle and guard blocked each other on that play. the pitch was behind him and qua got absolutely rocked. he got up and stripped them.

Question about Checking Out of Plays

His throwing motion is too long. Compare him to Bryant to Lawrence. Ideally, QBs bring the ball right to their ear and throw from there, but that takes arm strength. Bryant (like many human QBs) has a quarter hitch to get his arm going. TM throws like an outfielder. It's just not fair to ask...

    Clemson postgame

Ask yourself how many times we have given to a BB on a read since TM was QB1. Ds know we are severely limited. CPJ is calling around it, which forces us into complex counter stuff where we have to block big people not option stuff where we don't. Parker makes a lot of the trap, counter stuff...

    Clemson postgame

I do not know how you judge who is better at option football if QBs are in gold jerseys. I just dont see the separation between the two QBs and our mistake rate couldn't be higher.
