The most likely result of the dot gov getting involved is a worse situation than we currently find ourselves in; not to mention the likelihood of legislation trying to return us back to the old status quo would likely be found unconstitutional by the USSC. IMO, best case scenario is enough...

Made me google - I figured that he was retired. Currently DC for the USFL New Orleans Breakers, along with his son Zach(Linebackers). He's certainly got a lot of experience under his belt since leaving Tech.
IIRC, there was scuttlebutt of something else going on. Apparently, either him or his family wasn't happy on the east coast. This move fits that narrative, I suppose - getting him back out west.
