That depends on the plan. And what Whiskey quoted me on was discussing Bernie's plan that you linked to earlier. Which doesn't mention raising those rates at all

If a 1% increase in my cost to them would cause them to lay me off why do they keep giving me raises? I guess if you are just overhead and not providing value to the company then maybe you should be worried about it. But I'm not.

I was specifically addressing your comment on "11% increase on taxes". It's not a complete picture without discussing the savings on premiums. I'm not going to disagree on needing to balance the budget but we clearly think there are different ways to get there. Now you're sounding like Trump...

I understand that. The savings is on health insurance premiums. It would be a replacement for that cost and that's what I'm referencing. Ignoring that is not an honest argument. There are also fees with our current system. There are also deductibles that need to be met. What's your point?

Without talking about the savings on healthcare premiums you're not presenting the whole picture. The 11% you're referencing is 4% on the employee side and 7% on the employer side. My premiums come out to almost 6% on my end and my employer matches. That comes out to 2% SAVINGS for me on...

We’re in the midst of one of the longest expansions in the economy in decades and you think more deregulation is the only thing holding us back from further multiplying the economy? I don’t think they’re going to take you as far you think they will. Space Exploration. Going to the moon...

We’re dealing with a lot of assumptions that I don’t necessarily agree with but I’ll play. $25 to $50 wages - this would be great but I don’t know what you do to get there. Nobody making $50 an hour is paying 50% in taxes. And even then that would assume eliminating taxes completely but even...

That is certainly a complication of advancing technology and treatments. Healthcare costs weren't as big of a deal when the recommended treatment was throwing some leeches on the person to get the bad blood out of them. And if that didn't work you were just dead.

I guess it’s the bleeding heart liberal in me but I keep coming back to the people who are making good wages and have health insurance and are still chewed up by the system. These are people who could largely make their own choices and thought they were covered and still get saddled with...

I admittedly don’t know all the ins and outs of the case. If they were being asked to make a custom gay wedding cake with dancing penises all over it they should be able to say, “We don’t make those types of cake here” and I don’t think that would be a problem. But if all this custom cake said...

My first thought when you said it was a Fox News clip I remember seeing with them complaining about Starbucks changing the color of their Christmas/Holiday cups. Instead of Santa they just changed it to red with Happy Holidays and Hannity was claiming it was a war on Christmas. So that's why I...

I appreciate that and I appreciate that this thread has been a reasonable discussion. I may throw out a barb here and there regarding some conservative talking points but I do realize that there's just about every size, shape, and type of conservative. The same with...

My point was simply that all of those workers who are employed by these large corporations and remain poor while they are working don't need to be insulted or kicked while they are down simply because they are performing simpler tasks or less complex jobs. The company heads (rich) need these...

When did I ever say they made anyone buy anything or stole from them? Again, putting words in my mouth. Walmart, McDonald's, Starbucks, Sears, etc. The owners and executives are the rich who are allegedly getting "milked". Good for them, congratulations to them for making lots of money and...

And there it is. The disdain for the poor. Those rich who are getting "milked", who do you think they made their money off of? Seems to be part of the conservative marketing plan. Lower taxes=liberty&freedom. Poor people=lazy non producers I don't buy it

And I think that's a fair discussion to have, how far does "promote" go? And obviously there will be different sides on it but having that discussion is a far cry from "one side wants to eliminate liberty and freedom" that i hear so often from the right. And i didn't intend for this thread...
