You can quit looking. You won’t find them on there.

Yep. Good times. He also ended a 2 decade long bowl streak and the end of his tenure and into the next we have now missed bowls in 5 of 6 years and haven’t been ranked in 6 years. That is also part of his resume.

Man. Virtually none of that is correct. I didn’t hate Johnson. Thought he was a good coach that maximized his talent. I think Gailey clearly left the program in better shape than Johnson did. Not sure how that can be argued. And I also agree that Gailey and Johnson were similar coaches...

Lol. No. Collins could have done better. And if he doesn’t improve drastically this tear he will be gone.

But Malzahn actually improved recruiting at Auburn. His system didn’t hinder him in the slightest the way Johnson’s hindered him. And I think you overstate the difference between Tech and Auburn in terms of recruiting. Yes there is a difference but I would argue it’s not as massive as you...

Once again. You struggle to follow the point. The point is if Gailey left him with players so ill suited for his system then we should have improved as Johnson recruited his own players. That obviously didn’t happen.

Wake’s recruiting abilities has nothing to do with the conversation. You brought up how similar Auburn’s offense was earlier in this thread under Malzan to Johnson’s. How was he able to recruit elite talent with what you say is a similar system? Hint: shotgun/passing game. The perception of...
  8. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

This is the most ridiculous post yet. Johnson’s best 2 years consecutively were his first 2 because Gailey left him more talent than he could ever accumulate on his own.

I agree. Wake sounds great. Running that offense doesn’t repel recruits. Sensational. If Johnson would have been able to adapt his offense in a similar fashion we wouldn’t be in the position we are in. You guys don’t care about the perception of that offense. I get it. Unfortunately...
  10. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

You sincerely believe we should be over any impact of coming out of the 3O in year 3? And by the way, hiring a guy like Collins was a result of coming out of the the option.

I don’t think anybody would disagree with that statement. Not sure what you are arguing against.
  12. Go Wolverines!

Lol. The BIG 10 is a fraud
  13. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

How is Wake Forest doing? Where is recruiting compared to our peers?
  14. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Just wanted to say this is the post of this thread and really takes the GT has to do something different argument and COMPLETELY annihilates it. My post on here aren’t so much anti Johnson or pro Collins. They are about combatting the narrative mentioned above which is one of the most...
  15. Bowl Season

Pitt is a damn good team and they probably walk away away from MSU with Pickett or probably even their #2. They return a ton next year and will be the hands down coastal favorite with Slovis transferring in.

Enjoyed the convo guys. Difference of opinions are what makes the world go round. You guys are wrong as hell but it’s all good. I’m going to bed.
  17. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

I would argue Nebraska is STILL transitioning out if the option but that is just me...
  18. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Collins has outrecruited or recruited similarly while winning 3 games a year. That’s just a fact. You can’t dispute that right? So how is their ceiling higher than ours?
  19. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Lol. Apparently I wasn’t the only one that enjoyed looking at formations. The talent level at GT went on a steady decline after Johnson took over. Not surprisingly his best 2 year stretch was his first 2 years here when he was working with players Gailey recruited.
  20. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Johnson was great at adjustments. No doubt about that. We certainly agree there. He was a brilliant coach.
