  1. WSB Trashing TECH RECRUITING

After reminding myself who we did get, looking at their film, thinking about our needs, and thinking about how they project into our school and system I think it's a solid class. WR and DL were biggest needs and we got good film, size, and speed there. Very solid IMO. QB prospects look dynamic...
  2. CPJ is a hot head on the sidelines?

All my coaches were this way. I always just considered it football and never took it personally. You get to know your coaches and don't begrudge them for yelling when you screw up. It's something you laugh about later in life
  3. He's Back....

    Welcome home!
  4. Dante Wigley

My guess is he was borderline with his academics and could have tried sticking it out, maybe like JHD, but got advice to leave. Good prospect to be sure, however as many have pointed out we've got some other guys who are also good prospects.
  5. Gary Brown

Best wishes to GB. Make some bad arse looking stuff!
  6. Military Bowl: Pitt vs Navy

I think GT football does have nice things. Are we at a stage where we can just reload and endure a season with a lot of key injuries against a really tough schedule? Obviously not. We'll have to recruit much better and more consistently than GT has ever recruited to reload after an Orange Bowl...
  7. Les Miles Met w/ Ted Roof in January

    Winning post
  8. Realistic expectations for 2016?

Agree although it also depends. If you got to 3-9 getting blown out and not competing then IMO you've got a job to do to have a winning season. For us we lost a lot of players to injury, played a lot of young guys, and repeatedly/almost flukily came up just short of winning several games. Or...
  9. Realistic expectations for 2016?

Went 11-3 with the same staff we went 3-9 with. Just sayin'.
  10. BYU - Navy - GT

Sounds like BYU should be hiring Jasper :D
  11. 35 @GTAthletics Student-Athletes Earn Degrees

It's great to be a yellow jacket! Proud of our guys! A lot of hard work...and they will be very glad they did it!
  12. Jeune

IF he puts in the work on all phases of his game Jeune can be the next great GT WR. No question about it. Fortunately he won the effort award so hopefully he just mashes on the gas. Nobody trained harder than D. Thomas and C. Johnson.
  13. Biggest need for 2016 (offense edition)

It's really multifactoral, imo. Holding onto the football was a HUGE problem Pass blocking was a problem Consistency run blocking from ALL positions (OL, WR, AB, BB) was a problem Lack of take it to the house speed at AB was a problem BB adjustments/presnap reads were a problem One thing I'd...
  14. Marcus Marshall - Freshman All American Honorable Mention

There's definitely a learning curve for new B-backs. Took Laskey until his senior year to really nail the blocking, plus he like many others was less secure with the foosball early on. We may get the rare guy who comes right in and can immediately block, make the presnap read, have a knack for...
  15. Tim Byerly -Update

Would be nice for us but I get the feeling he's going to get snapped up quickly by some employer for more $$$.
  16. Jeune

    Lynch just quietly makes plays.
  17. Scout Team Players of the Year

Award just means the player(s) worked hard to give the starters a good look. Anything else is fans reading into it. Not to diminish the award though because it helps to have scout guys who take it seriously.
  18. Coaching changes?

I like the points/drive rankings better as well. It just makes sense.
  19. Do use ralize that unc who was down 21-0 could be in playoffs

We were in almost every game ( ND and Clemson on the road were exceptions). A few less injuries and a little more luck would have given us some wins and momentum. With the injuries and schedule we just never could put things together. Point is the season sucked and there is plenty to complain...
