And if you think about it, this format is really a 12 team playoff. 8 teams playing for conference championships (power 5 less the Big 12), Big 12 Champ, and 3 at large bids. 12 teams included in the mix definitely gets rid of the bias.
This is my impression as well. I think it is the reason CPJ doesn't use a card with scripted plays. I believe he calls the games based on what the other defense is showing. He takes what they give him and exploits their weakness.
It reminds me of a Sports Illustrated article several years...
One thing that caught my eye while watching the Orange Bowl and being in the chat room was someone who immediately dumped on this team and jumped ship at the first sign of things not going our way. Not cool.
Boomer, you talk about the fact that our tacking has improved. I couldn't agree more. In previous years and early this year it seemed like our secondary would just try to hit the opposing ball carrier and expect him to go down. This is exactly what would lead to the defense being torched...
I love this spot. Reminds me of my son except he's a hockey player at Purdue. Same story though - loved Bill Nye or figuring out how to blow stuff up and now studying engineering.
I know we don't have a game next week or anything, but did we come out of the Orange Bowl with no serious injuries - i.e. nothing requiring surgery that might impact spring or early next season?
Leonard, I know next to nothing about the situation. Hell I don't even know much about football. I do know this: Lynn was highly recruited out of high school and I have never heard anything but good things about him out of the coaches mouths. I also know he is surrounded by incredible people...
We must have a lawyer in this group who will represent this fine young man pro bono. What about the gentleman who purchased the football from Tech's game vs Cumberland? Isn't he a lawyer?
I really think you are over-reacting to this. These kids should enjoy themselves and riding on a jet ski is not going to take away from game preparation. I know several college athletes and you would be surprised at the kind of lifestyles they lead and with no impact whatsoever on their game...
We took a trip to Ireland last year and I would guess that you could make a week long trip of it for no more than the cost of an Orange Bowl trip (if flying to Florida from the midwest or west coast). Also given the amount of advance notice of this Ireland game as compared to a bowl game...
