I find it interesting that the only play they don't use their own footage is the fumble. Wonder what their angle showed 🤔🤣
Edited to add that I just think it's funny. I agree with the replay officials that there wasn't indisputable evidence regardless of whether it was an actual fumble or not...
I didn't realize the rule included the inside of the jersey too but regardless the penalty against Tech was wrong. Our player grabbed the outside of the jersey more on the back shoulder blade area. It was just a really good grip and strong pull back, which caused the ball carrier's upper body to...
A horse collar is when they grab inside the back of the shoulder pads to bring a player down. You are correct that when Tech got called for it our player grabbed the jersey and not the pads, which is not a horse collar penalty. However, the ref saw the player getting pulled back and just assumed...
They actually won in overtime so it wasn't as talked about. The issue is he could have taken a knee in regulation and won but instead let Stanford tie the game to take it to overtime.
I watched it to the end and very rarely turn any games off before they are over. However, I'm honestly not shocked about anyone turning it
off when we took the last timeout with 1:18 left. It was late at night and everyone knew Miami was just going to take a knee twice to end it. I know that...
There is no excuse
But the thing is his explanation is wrong. We took a time out with 1:18 on the clock on 2nd down, there was no "recalibrating" needed after that.
I also think it speaks to his "character" that in his explanation he basically calls out the player saying they talked about...
I had been watching on delay and was about 5 min or so still behind at the end so I was jumping forward in between plays to help speed it up. I didn't even really notice the time was to the point they could have knelt so that's what kept me watching. I went back this morning and watched the end...
The biggest difference I noticed was that it seemed they were told that rather than trying to go for the ball on every tackle attempt, the first person should just secure the table then once the tackle is secured the next players to the player can go for the strip.
I honestly thought it looked like he changed directions a little bit and lost his balance. However he did make a comment on the interview after the game on ACC The Huddle that sounded like he did drop on purpose. It was actually a funny exchange between him and Key.
Well pretty sure Hasselbeck called us Virginia Tech so it's not hard to put him to shame. Although I do think Wes is one of the best in the game and I definitely miss him calling Tech games.
Key said it best. They fought for a full 60 min!!! This may have been the first game under Key (and probably for years) that I felt they put everything on the line from when toe met leather to the final whistle!!! Sure there were plenty of mistakes, bad plays, etc but they NEVER gave up or let...
Love that they're trying to blame the refs 🤣🤣🤣 It was close and I don't know if that was a fumble or not but The refs didn't decide to run the ball instead of just taking a knee.
I have a lot of respect for your views on this board as you played for Tech and tend to have more thought out and informed perspectives. However, I have to disagree with your take here. IIRC You are the one on here that mentioned that Key was not happy with the way TFG has handled things and...
I'm pretty sure you are right that the co- title was more honorary. From what I recall, Scherer was more an assistant DC that tried to help Thacker but Thacker was ultimately responsible for the final say in everything. I do know that Key explicitly stated that Thacker would be the one calling...
This is where I am too. While this game was horrible on ALL accounts, this is the first game under Key (starting from last year) where there were no positives to come out. But this is only one game. Obviously the defense has had issues all season and we have struggled at times on offense but...
