We didn't get beat on a gutsy call, we got beat on a BS call by the ref! It was clearly not a catch and I will still not let it go!
I mean we should not have been in that situation in the first place but my point still stands.
I noticed him a few times get some push and then recognize a screen/quick pass and step back to locate where the ball was going. I thought that is pretty good instincts for a true freshman DL.
In one of those plays he pursued the receiver across the field and took a good angle (for a big man)...
He did not catch it! It was clear as day in the replay! I have shown it to numerous non Tech friends that are big football people and they all said that there is no way it is a catch.
Sorry it is obviously still a trigger for me :cautious:
This! Everything he does is for the players and/or to attract recruits and the majority of the kids that age love it. In addition, the way he acts is 100% just who he is and is not a show he puts on.
The best part of those clips is we had all the sacks with only bringing 4 and occasionally only 3. Thacker did a fantastic job of changing up the rush so UNC didn't know who the 4th rusher was so that no one knew who to block.
I think we can hold onto Mason, Smith, and Gibbs but I don't see Griffin sticking around. He is a solid back and can be a starter for a lot of programs but is not likely to get much playing time behind the other 3.
Also not only did I love having Gibbs and Smith on the field at the same time...
