If you believe that we have given $5million for staff just to stick with our QB coach who has zero OC experience outside of maybe 2 games last season, I don't know what to tell you.
That increase in staff budget was intended to bring in top notch coordinators.
Why? Does it help us in any way? We are without an offensive identity at the moment, I'm sure that helps with recruiting.
At this point we need all the help we can get and having a guy choose to stay with his current team as an back of the house analyst over coming here now to be our named...
If we are waiting on a non-OC to our OC, then we are making a huge mistake. I'm sorry but being our OC right now for recruiting is more important that being Offensive Quality Control to another team.
If JBatt gave CBK $5million for staff salaries and we make someone (Weinke) currently on staff our new OC, then that hire has failed. Especially in light of the fact that we appear to be keeping Thacker on as DC.
NIL doesn't work that way. We can't just cut players a check from the AA. A booster has to hire the kid for his Name, Image, or Likeness. If we have a booster who owns a Car Dealership they can have the player come in for a meet and greet at the dealership and pay him for that. We may could...
Both of these would be good for us.
Kyron Drones looks like an interesting QB that would make for a great competition with Pyron.
Abdul Janneh put up decent stats at Duquesne 44 Rec for 604 yards and 9tds. With McCollum and King on the way out we have room to take a flyer on a lower division...
We fired our coach a full 3 months ago and have nothing to show for it.
Unless we have someone lined up that is just a slam dunk of a hire, GT dropped the ball.
At this point if Deion or Chadwell take the USF job and we don't get the other, we are looking at Fritz (62 year old losing record...
There are a lot of schools who would want his son. I am not sure why his son coming would be viewed as a negative. Shedeur was a 4* QB coming out of high school. He had a composit rating on 247 of .9126, for comparison Jeff Sims rating as .9169.
As I have said this would have to go the Dabo route.
How many seasons did we spend calling Dabo a clown? He was consistently out coached his first few seasons.
It is a lot easier to go for broke when you are alread broke.
We do not have the resources or the desirabilty to pull a proven coach. We have to deal with what we are at this point. We are the worst team in the ACC currenty.
The only chance we have for a quicker turn around is a flashy hire...
I am beginning to think the only way that TStan saves his job is if he locks down Deion before the end of the year.
I would be akin to keeping a coach because he has a top 5 recruiting class
