Regarding the above WR banter:
1. Blocking. Jeune has evolved into a talented edge blocker. Got offensive player of the game at least once last year for it. Saw him dominate some dudes last year. Stewart I didn't notice as much in the run game but clearly he is effective enough to start. Camp...
Lots of great responses and very informative posts. While I'm a diehard football guy I have to shamefully admit to being more fairweather in hoops.
The only thing I'm not buying is that JP giving BG credit for stuff like recruiting Lammers and Okogie is merely coachspeak. Dont see what JP would...
Excerpt from this article rings true with the promotion aspect.
Do you agree with the 'playing with more energy angle?

"Heading into Wednesday's game at Clemson, Pastner has...
Whoa....just read the Indiana/Crean thread....I'm not looking for emotional rubbish here, rather actual basketball analysis of how the team plays differently. I didn't realize Gregory was such an emotionally charged subject. Please keep it analytical and classy if you respond!
When JP was hired Calipari said JP was a much better fit at Georgia Tech than Memphis. I assume Calipari meant JP is cerebral/values academics highly and would be great fit working with the kind of kid we get/and to be in GT's culture.
My understanding of Gregory was that he was a solid coach...
I agree with this statement. Remember we thought we had a long term winner with Hewitt.
This said, there's also reason for optimism. Calipari said he felt Pastner was a much better fit at Georgia Tech than at Memphis, and I can only assume he meant for the kind of kid we have vs Memphis. In his...
Dude is 60 years old so this is by no means a stretch. Depends a lot on health, genetics, luck, fitness, etc. Being a HC after 70 years is the exception, not the rule. I'd take 5 years and be happy with it personally. Anything else is gravy.
Great post. Speaking to the first point above, IMO this is why Calipari when asked about J. Pastner going to GT said it's a much better fit for JP. JP values academics and his communication style is geared towards a more cerebral player. At GT he has much less responsibility to be a...
First and foremost, and discussion of GT WR's has to throw major props to Jeune for his blocking. The NFL loves tough receivers who like to block, and IMO Jeune will make a roster based on his effort & willingness to block as well as good hands, good body control in the air, and deceptive...
I liked the Pastner hire, but more for recruiting than coaching. This year he is getting the most out of his guys and they are working hard and having fun. Great to see GT makings some unexpected noise in basketball. I like that Pastner is continuing to preach guard rebounding and contesting...
I kid I'm eager to see is LB Jakob Brashear. I thought his film was WAY better than his 2-star ranking. Looks like a hard-nosed bad arse FB player to me.
David Curry also showed some flashes, but inexperience made him a liability. I wonder whether with a year to mature after last year and...
Word up. Plus if you lose it's such an early loss that it doesn't hurt as much as a loss later in the season relative to play off or bowl selection.
Also, regarding recruiting, recruits don't pick GT because of hype. They pick GT because they realize the value of the degree will reward them...
Could be a situational QB in the pro's in a specific package to throw defenses a whole 'nother look. Like a Russell Wilson run/pass option type of package.
Hate to rebuild but if it gets you big years the glory is worth it.
Hoping recent incremental recruiting improvement will modulate, promote more up years & not as severe down years. ACC's gotten tough.
