  1. #WCUvsGT Postgame Discussion

I watched the game on my computer! First time I've been able to get that to work. Not a bad effort on D overall. We got two scores off turnovers and played pretty well between the tackles. Edge stuff still bothers us more then it should, however. And the tackling … meh. On O, we have problems...
  2. Deion/ GT having discussion?

    34 - 15. To repeat: 34 - 15. Or let me put it differently: 34 - 15.
  3. Deion/ GT having discussion?

Ah. So they were - how shall I put it? - fools. His record at UF was - let me check - 34 - 15 with 3 bowt appearances in 4 years and 2 wins plus 3 years in the top 20. And that doesn't include his years at MSU. He was 69 - 46 there with 8 bowl appearances in 9 years with 3 years in the top 25...
  4. Deion/ GT having discussion?

I don't think Sanders would come to Tech. It would be a graveyard for him. This isn't meant as a reflection on his skills or his recruiting ability. We don't know about the first yet (and it can't get much worse) and he's good at the second. What I mean is that he would find the kinds of things...
  5. Most likely wins this year

I'm pretty sure it's drugs myself. And I want some of them.
  6. Bottom 25

Yes. We'll see how accurate the ratings are when we play Ole Miss. That game should tell us a lot. Provided this week doesn't, that is.
  7. WCU game

Seems about right to me. And I'd be satisfied with that big a win. And very, very dissatisfied with a loss. But I don't expect we'll lose.
  8. WCU game

Here's a little bit on Western Carolina: Their QB looks pretty good, but the level of competition isn't quite up to ACC standards. Still, they scored 52 points in that game, enough to make anybody a tad nervous.
  9. Clemson 41 - GT 10

The above covers most of the points I would have made. But there is one more. During the first quarter I suddenly realized that all that talk about Patenaude quitting was a sham! We looked exactly the same! Get to third down: run the ball up the middle against the best DL in the conference or...
  10. I don’t see a game thread... how about this one?

(Sigh) I suppose it's too much for any one to look at our game against UNC last year where Sims ran for - let me check - 122 yards. What would it cost to put in a few double options? Too much for this coaching staff, I suppose. Well, maybe next half they'll try to surprise them …
  11. ACC Discussion 2022

Typical. You'd think Kelly dropped the punt.
  12. ACC Discussion 2022

The play to make down at the goal for FSU was to run the QB every time. The guy is a great runner and they had the game. If he doesn't score inside, then fake a handoff and run for the open space. If that doesn't work, then kick the field goal. I hope their coaching is this inept when Tech...
  13. ACC Discussion 2022

Speaking of the Criminals, early in the game they showed the FSU O from behind. Their OL had the biggest collection of butts I have ever seen. Then they showed them close up at the line. Dang near the biggest guts I've seen as well. I suppose if all you have to do is sit there and go all Sherm...
  14. We would be a Top 25 team this year…

You know I posted the 2019 NCSU game highlights here awhile ago. If Graham had remained healthy, I think we would have run an O more like what we had in the past. In that game Graham had 112 yards rushing on 14 carries and Mason 141 on 22. And we won against a favored team for the first time...
  15. We would be a Top 25 team this year…

See, now that's what I like about this board. You don't see too many scattergrams with regression analysis on most football boards. It would be interesting to see where else, actually.
  16. We would be a Top 25 team this year…

I hope you're right, but new coaching staffs with different ideas usually don't translate into smooth transitions and improvements in performance. We'll see soon.
  17. ACC Discussion 2022

Yeah, I do. I don't, however, think he could touch the top of either Armstrong or Hartman's cleats. They are that much better. Imho, of course.
  18. ACC Discussion 2022

And, I might add, this was the Backyard Brawl, Pitt and WVU's equivalent to Tech - UGAG. No love lost in that game and both teams always play as well as they can. We'll know more about Pitt in another couple of weeks. As we will about ourselves, of course. Update: I also watched UVA today and...
  19. 2022 GT Roster Ranked 30th Nationally in 247 Talent Composite

One thing Curry and co. were good at was using - gasp! - technology to help recruiting. One reason Bama hired him was to get the high(!) tech(!!) recruiting systems Tech was using to identify and evaluate potential recruits. What this boiled down to was decent database management, but that tells...

Yesss. See Bedford, Sean. Or, as a negative example, Cooper, Ken. Why was he moved, anyhow?
