  1. That should be Geoff’s last game as head coach

    A trifle optimistic, aren't you?
  2. Geoff Collins worst GT coach of all time

24 - 0. In the first half. Provided, that is, that the ABs went in the right direction on sweeps.
  3. It’s ugly, but I noticed some good things.

It is truely amazing that any one could say something like this after the total debacle today. I'm not saying we shouldn't strive for that, but the building block for a program like Tech is consistent winning. You'll never get to what you want until we get that. Full Stop.
  4. Geoff Collins worst GT coach of all time

Before 1989, people would have said this about Ross. Let's put it this way: he's the worse coach we've had since B*** L****. There. I don't think you have any objections. Btw, the two were very similar and I'm not that surprised. Disappointed, yes, but not surprised.
  5. It’s ugly, but I noticed some good things.

Vandy would kill for 7 wins a year and a bowl game too boot. This is the kind of thinking that got us to where we are today.
  6. GT Peer Group & Path to Success

Dude, after today I guarantee the money is there.
  7. It’s ugly, but I noticed some good things.

    1. A bowl game? Sorry, but I can't even laugh about that. 2. The O sucked big time. Anyone who suggested Long as a replacement is, how shall I put this, brain dead. 3. They scored, last I looked (I can't keep watching) 42 points and had roughly 500 yards total offense. So much for the D. 4...
  8. 10-27 under Geoff Collins

Mother<common English word beginning with f denoting human sexual function>er. How soon can we fire this guy? We just got stomped (well, to be exact, are still being stomped) by a team coached by Lane <common English beginning with f denoting human sexual function>ing Kiffin. We aren't talking...
  9. GT Peer Group & Path to Success

See the post below yours. The cash is there for the asking, provided someone wants to ask.
  10. GT Peer Group & Path to Success

We'll never know until we pick up the phone. And, given what he has done at Wake, I'd pay them both off and smile about it.
  11. GT Peer Group & Path to Success

Our problem is that we have a fan base that won't learn from history. Every really successful coach we have had at Tech has had something special that "establishes a brand" and that other teams have a hard time coping with. It can be on O - Dodd's razzle-dazzle wing T, Paul's spread option...
  12. Wes Walker

I'd say that depends on the kind of BS you are selling.
  13. GT Peer Group & Path to Success

All true and all on point. But that's the silhouette of a B-26.
  14. GT Peer Group & Path to Success

Yes. I've seen this in my work too. The problem comes when you get leaders who are more interested in their own power than in realistic goal fulfillment. You can get some real distortions cropping up when that happens. At my college we had an analyst who made regular predictions of freshman...
  15. Wes Walker

Problem = you have named two coaches who, whatever their differences, would never, ever allow anything like a "juice box" on the sidelines during a game. And who both insist on on-the-field discipline and run sidelines that look and act like every play counts. The main difference, so near as I...
  16. Wes Walker

Too bad the results don 't show it.
  17. Defensive Stats after 2 games

Oth, the stats that count aren't encouraging. We are giving up an average of 384 yards a game and 29 points. And that's with an FCS team in there. That has to improve. All those sacks and TFLs don't count for much when you can't keep the other side from scoring.
  18. Most likely wins this year

Bingo. And I'm really tired of that. I want to see the team get to the point where we can actually have some idea whether we are going to win or loss. When Paul was coach I had a real good idea how we were going to do each week. Same with Chan. We could tell who was better and who was worse...
  19. #WCUvsGT Postgame Discussion

Yes, again. The number one thing I have disliked about Collins's approach from the start is that the team doesn't look like it has its mind on the field during games. And, by extension, neither does the coaching staff. I'm a fossil, I know; the coaches I played under didn't allow anything but a...
  20. #WCUvsGT Postgame Discussion

Yes. Now, if we can only get rid of the rest sidelines antics and act like we are serious about playing football …
