  1. NIU HC Breaks Down Upset

Kudos to that coach and his players. They whipped us when it counted and out smarted us from jump. That’s not good (for us)
  2. In all seriousness if we lose next week how bad will it get?

Man I’ve got two ammo boxes of them - but they may be 60+ years old :-) I need to go find out if they will fire…
  3. What would it take this year for you to be open to the idea that we're on the right track?

Was kind of my point - its likely the easiest. It’s harder from here.
  4. In all seriousness if we lose next week how bad will it get?

Yep - that’s like the Pitt handshake or the historic margin v Clemson. Not the kind of press you want. Thanks CGC !!!
  5. In all seriousness if we lose next week how bad will it get?

I think Saturdays result makes it much less likely - but would would bet your $$ on it ? I wouldn’t
  6. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Tbh I think anyone wins more than 3 at this point
  7. When Should Collins be Fired (Poll)

There’s an adage in entertainment - don’t f**k with the money. Once that happens, all rules and previously thought logic goes out the window. I’m telling you - a loss to KSU or a 1-3 win season puts a lot on the table that we don’t think possible today
  8. What would it take this year for you to be open to the idea that we're on the right track?

And also when you don’t. That’s where a lot of us have been for a long time
  9. What would it take this year for you to be open to the idea that we're on the right track?

Whatever the debates about CGCs hire and other candidates, there is NO reason why giving him a 7 year contract was a good idea. I mean let’s say CGCs agent asks for it and ADTS says nope - 5 is all you get. Does CGC really not take it ? Of course he does. He’s betting on himself. TS...
  10. What would it take this year for you to be open to the idea that we're on the right track?

Of course it would. But you’re in the “monkeys flying out of butts” zone so the question is kind of pointless
  11. What would it take this year for you to be open to the idea that we're on the right track?

I’ll chime in. I do think there is a level of interpretation here. Sure, if he runs the table and wins out - or somehow wins 8-9 games then I’ll certainly say wait and see, but from what I have seen in the 2+ seasons, I’m done. Beating middling teams on our schedule like Duke, Pitt, BC, etc...
  12. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Nope. Choice still looks like the best of this staff by far
  13. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

I doubt that Is truly the case - I just don’t think CGC or the coordinators do this “at a high level”

You see things we civilians don’t. My perception is that this has not been an uncommon occurrence. Is that a bias on my part or do you see the same thing ?
  15. In all seriousness if we lose next week how bad will it get?

And that is when the buyout equation starts to become relevant. Live by the brand die by the brand. If the brand becomes that damaged you have to take some action.

We moved to Dallas last year. Dallas Morning News recap on the game was about 1” of print about the winning score, but they made sure to note that NIU was an 18.5 pt dog. We paid $1M to lose to a team that Vegas favored us by 2.5 TDs. That is epically bad.
  17. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Listening to his pressers has been a form of masochistic self punishment for 2+ years. Saturday was no different. Not sure why I do it but I do. At least he didn’t say we were getting better every. Single. Day.
  18. Mostly “Fire Geoff Collins”, some reminiscing, maybe bourbon or other distractions

Yep that’s what he said. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt - but he looked indecisive and looked like the crowed swayed the decision. He gets that look a lot - and if you don’t think other coaches and players see it…. if he ever rights the ship (doubtful) this will be something he has to...
