    Spring Practice

What I’ve found when it comes to work culture and leadership is this: if a worker believes that his leader has his best interests at heart, then he’ll do what’s asked without question and focus on doing the best job he can. If the worker doubts the motives of his leader, then he’ll constantly be...

Sounds like our starting OL will be Robinson-Fusile-Franklin-Williams-Leftwich. Not a bad lineup experience-wise.

I agree that OL is critical for any offense, and having quick, explosive receivers who can get open quickly reduces what is asked of them in the passing game, as does having a QB who can find open receivers quickly and get them the ball.

If Leary and Rutherford are our two best receivers, we might have some fun with 2-TE sets this year.

BDS - what section is the best???

I was there the one year I didn’t do band. It was a good section, but not one that I could say is “the best” due to constantly having to turn around to see the video monitor. If a friend were to invite me to go to a game with seats in the south end zone, I certainly wouldn’t complain.

BDS - what section is the best???

As a former band member, I’m partial to the Lower North. I loved being able to see the view from the end zone and having a straight line of sight to the JumboTron. I also have found the Lower West to be pretty good.

Hopefully it doesn’t end up like the OL in 2015. I remember saying “We’re losing our best lineman, but it’s not like Shaq Mason was blocking for five people.” Oh how wrong I was

I think the determining factor is authenticity. A coach needs to do whatever he can to put his players in positions to succeed. Some coaches are a little more goofy, but the difference between Pete Carroll and TFG is that Pete Carroll still prioritizes performance over optics; he’s goofy because...

    Spring Practice

I think it was a little bit talent, a little bit scheme, and a big lack of development prior to the coaching change. Jenkins has a ton of talent, and it seems like our staff needed to do a better job of teaching him how to leverage it into results. Carter had potential that went untapped as...

    Spring Practice

There really is a lot of potential in this group. Leary already can be a real weapon on jet sweeps, Rutherford is poised to have a McCollum-esque breakout season, Blackburn and Janneh have a lot of potential as big outside threats, and Chase Lane should provide strong leadership and experience...

Brent Key on instilling a culture of toughness at Georgia Tech

A culture of toughness is exactly what we need. If a linebacker gets run over, so be it, but he better be a damn annoying speed bump in the process!

    Special Teams Coordinator

I could see him taking on additional responsibilities if he’s successful. As things stand, he has his work cut out for him. There’s a lot that needs fixing on Special Teams. If he manages to get it fixed in Year 1 or Year 2, I could see him taking over coaching the TEs since he’s apparently had...

    The Tech Tower T

I remember that. The guy who stole it was in my calc 2 recitation my first semester.

Have you ever randomly met any GT athletes/coaches?

A few weeks after we won the Orange Bowl, I saw Justin Thomas as I was walking out of the Couch building. I congratulated him on a great performance, and he thanked me. Seemed like a calm and humble guy. I had a similar encounter with Robby Godhigh seeing him on campus a couple years after he...

Very promising. Same high school as Tevin Washington.

    Portal Watch 2022-23

As far as Tech is concerned, that is the only philosophy that makes sense for us (and frankly most schools). We don’t have the funds to field a professional team of mercenaries. We need to be targeting the most talented players who want what we can realistically offer them. Most of the players...

What is the best single-game performance you've seen out of a Tech player?

Vad Lee against UNC in 2012 is up there. Justin Thomas had a lot of good games, and it’s hard to pick one in particular.

General News about Key and his Staff

I wonder if Thacker requested Jim Panagos who worked with him at Temple.

    D-Line & coaching going into 2023

After looking at some stats, I feel that I may have been a bit harsh on Kyle Kennard. Aside from sacks, his stats are pretty comparable to the career progression of Anree Saint Amour, who was pretty solid for us. If he can keep progressing, he’ll be a good starter next year.
