  2. Team's Biggest Failure

It all starts up front. Maybe with Chimedzra back and Makius Scott transferring in to join Brooks, plus a year of development for Domineck, Kennard, Knight, & other promising young linemen we will have a more effective front that can stop the run and put heat on the QB. Whatever happened to...
  3. Jeff Sims Film Review

One thing that stuck out to me about Sims after he committed to GT was an interview he did. After watching his film in which he was very dynamic I expected a flashy personality. Instead he was very Nesbitt-like: direct, grounded, and unpretentious. I could tell he was a worker and very serious...
  4. Collins report card after 2 seasons

I find it hard to grade Collins at this point in time. There are things I see that I like and those I don't like. Recruiting of course has picked up and we are seeing some top tier talent again on the Flats. I like the marketing of the program and the City, and I think the culture being built...
  5. Justice Dingle in the portal

Justice is a really good guy from a really good family. Whatever he does I hope he is successful on and off the field.
  6. Game 8 #PITTvsGT Predictions

I don't like the match ups: A good passing team with a veteran QB who escapes really well vs our defense. We just don't rush well or contain opposing QBs who escape well. We tend to give up a ton of passing yards. A top run defense to match our strength running the ball. If our run game is...
  7. Game 8 Media Pittsburgh vs. Georgia Tech #PITTvsGT

Basically since I have been on GT football message boards threads have always been dominated by "get rid of all or some coaches" vs "give the coaches more time...better times are around the corner". Just the nature o' the beast it'd seem….
  8. GT - ND postgame thread

Agree he is our best player by far. I thought he looked quick as all get out vs elite speed on defense. He would have destroyed ND if OL had won the LOS. IMO already one of the best RBs in the country and seems to get better each week. Will be fun to watch as our OL gets better in seasons to come.
  9. GT - ND postgame thread

GT does not enjoy Bama's structural advantages, so no it's not possible for GT to be Bama. And I don't tgink that's TStan/CGC's goal. They want to upgrade talent accross the board, build a strong culture, and become hard-nosed, disciplined, and fundamentally sound in all three phases. If we do...
  10. Recruiting Potential

26-35 because we wont have as much attrition as other schools, and therefore smaller classes. Relative to historical, which is more like 35-50 or so it's a big step up. But I dont see factory like 'crootin at GT.
  11. Dave Patenaude's Offense

We should have been way better the second Ross took over. He couldnt coach his way out of a we paper bag! That it took him a few seasons to turn us around is an embarrassment. Will NEVER live down that Maryland loss. I dont care if Collins inherited a 3-8 team with a crappy defense and personel...
  12. remaining wins....

A lot of it depends on injuries and how our team continues to develop (as well as injuries for other teams and how they develop). COVID is a huge wildcard as well. I wouldn't be shocked to take down Notre Dame at Home or Miami on the road, but likely those plus Clemson are losses. Pitt, NCSU...
  13. The OFFENSIVE and DEFENSIVE LINES

OL is definitely improved this year. Credit goes to S&C, Key's coaching, our guys for working hard. Another big piece has been a great job by the staff recruiting Jordan Williams and Ryan Johnson. Both are mainstays. Makes you wonder what it would have been like had Devin Cochran come as well...
  14. Louisville Post Game

Bingo. I like the development I am seeing. Rebuilding the trenches takes time.
  15. Louisville Post Game

Was Knight out? Thought I saw #17 a few times but maybe I have his number wrong. Quez is a good backer. Actually Curry is pretty good too, just not terribly fast. LBs tend to look better and better the better the defensive line is.
  16. ACC Discussion 2020

IMO speaks to Clemson returning a lot from a title game runner up finish more than Miami being overrated. IMO Canes are a legit top 10, but there is a huge drop off once one gets past Clemson and Alabama.
  17. Louisville Post Game

    Sorry…alcohol speaking. Meant fake punt.
  18. Louisville Post Game

The question is did the ball break the plane before being fumbled. If it did then that's a touchdown that was then nullified by the penalty. There was no clear shot parallel to the goal line in which one could determine that the ball came loose before breaking the plane. The referee blocked the...
  19. Louisville Post Game

FG/XP is still special. WTF on that defender just jumping in and blocking the kick. We did give up a KO return to the 40, but we also had one where Howard peppered the returner on the 15 and and a couple that were stopped inside the 25. Plus our KO kicker put at least three in the end zone...
  20. Is Satterfield nasty enough to be a HC?

A team is only as good as its last game. Louisville looks solid in a lot of respects. Wouldn't be surprised to see them clean things up and turn in a solid season despite their rough start. One can see the ingredients are there. They just need to clean things up.
