    The difference is we had a HC who knew how to leverage that and perhaps even liked it. There is zero evidence to date that this is something our current HC can use as fuel to turn things around. Doesn’t mean he won’t / can’t - just he’s never shown it.

    I think its partly the lack of a defined feature back and partly the pessimism about the OL. Smith has great talent and potential but how many carries does he get ? I think Dontae will be the guy but until the games start, even the coaching staff may not know yet.

    Sims is a helluva athlete and seems to be a really good and smart young man. There’s a reason, based on his play to date, that he is being rated so low in the conference. Hopefully Weinke can help him be better at playing QB at a P5 level, but there is work to do.
