Not gonna name names but that's blatantly false. It's a small number but there are definitely a few, active Swarm posters who are very contrarian to almost every bit of positivity from Coach Collins.
No, I don't "know that is wrong" - I'm sure it's pretty right. The only ones stirring the pot are the ones continuing to crap on our new HC and his efforts to rid the malaise that had settled over the program. No more "It Is What It Is" football, please!
I think there are a small number of fans who'd be upset if Coach Collins wins a national championship next year because he didn't win it with their beloved Triple Option.
he's just mad because we won't be running 30 QB Keepers / game anymore, which some people bizarrely thought was "offensive genius". He's got an agenda.
I'm optimistic that Coach Collins is a good fit for us and that Coach Key will improve our OL and recruiting. A good OL removes the need to out-scheme anyone. A good D removes the need to score eleventy points every game.
We were a good QB and an entire good defense from being able to compete with Duke and Pitt. We still weren't going to hang with Clemson and the mutts (i.e. run the table, which is every school not named Alabama's only shot at a CFP berth). We still won't initially under Coach Collins - gotta...
QB is everything in every single offense. But you point out the other big problem - huge issues on the D side of things. I didn't see much of a change coming in that area anytime soon.
and sometimes it's not just plain ol' bad luck. Losing Lucas Johnson was...but not playing Tobias Oliver more often in 2018 wasn't. I also disagree that we were somehow due for another peak, just because it was cyclical. When we first peaked in 2014, we were annually beating the Dukes and...
We were kinda close if not for at least a dozen or so plays in 2014 (not counting the handful of plays that DID go our way that year). But we were light years away when he retired. We were nowhere close to competing with Clemson and the mutts, nevermind defeating both teams in a single season...
