So 5-star recruit Calvin Johnson wasn't a Yellow Jacket? It's like we didn't even play football before CPJ's arrival to some of you  We also won a national championship without CPJ as coach! And had a Heisman Trophy candidate too!
The previous coach (regime?) had some admirable...
$$ or not, you never saw the previous admin at recruits' houses at 12:01 AM! Not sure how much more it costs Coach Collins to put forth that kind of effort, if any, but I agree - it's definitely something different!
agreed. I enjoyed many games of the CPJ Era but there were obvious deficiencies all along too. Pretty much like every program. It's just nice to see real optimism on the Flats, which has been missing since the start of 2015. Not sure why a few people want to crap on that. I guess they...
Apparently, the staff size is still the same, according to a source in another thread. It's pretty clear that something has changed though. No way Key and Studdes come here to work under the previous HC. It's a new day on the Flats!
Possibly. The only thing we know for sure is how NOT to bring in multiple 5*s a year: Do what we did for the past 11 years!
Doing that godawful, shoulder-shrugging IIWII approach is a recipe for mediocrity.
I like the Dabo Admin approach by a HC of a P5 school better than the previous hands-on style, which failed to see the forest for the trees at times due to CPJ's involved style.
Between this and the recent interview with some local high school coaches about the negativity of recruiting for CPJ's scheme (after years of some fans denying the negative impact), I'm beginning to wonder if perhaps you're right.
Not that it matters now.
My guess is that the previous coach wasn't liked by some of our big-money donors, who are now happily opening up their wallets again. Disclaimer: It's a total SWAG.
