  1. Ranked #24

Could be. It is nothing short of remarkable that with all their advantages including but not limited to: recruiting, academics or lack there of for athletes, Board of Regents doing their bidding, utter lack of scruples, etc. that they have not won a national championship in more than 30 years.
  2. Ranked #24

Don't know what the rankings are, don't really care. For us, in our unique set of circumstances CPJ is the best coach. Nobody else is even close. Fedora at UNC is a good coach, as is Cutliffe at Duke, Dabo of course, Jimbo is excellent and the Sainted One is good for Miami but I would not...
  3. Ranked #24

True dat. It is telling that Venables (spelling?) makes a million dollars a year more than Roof. The guy he replaced was pretty good already. I know we don't have the money but if we did I would want to pay our assistants more, get more recruiting help and spend more recruiting nationally...
  4. Ranked #24

If UGA ever got Dabo or Lord help us, Saban there would be no stopping them. As it stands, they already have 10 five stars on this year's team which is more than anyone else in the SEC except Alabama who has 16.
  5. Ranked #24

Your facts and conclusions are indisputable. That said, Cutliffe is still a pretty good coach. May not be top 25, depending on who you talk to but there are a lot of programs that would not be in the fix they are in if they had him.
  6. Ranked #24

I see your point 87 but there have been other Clemson coaches that had nearly as much talent and consistently found ways to underachieve. Dabo has taken Clemson to the proverbial Promised Land of being an honest to goodness FOOTBALL FACTORY which is what they have lusted after for nearly a...
  7. Debate it!!!

Yep. 2009 had players on defense that we have not come close to replacing. 2014 had a veteran team with outstanding leadership. 2014 also had a better offensive line to my untrained eye. Others more knowledgeable may wish to comment. Both of them are among the great Tech teams of the...
  8. 2017 Schedules as they face GT

Giving Paul Johnson an extra week is tantamount to the kiss of death. That said, if I am the athletic director I would complain long and loud about this sort of treatment. When Miami and UNC were committing multiple recruiting violations that were so heinous as to actually prompt the aging...
  9. 2017 Schedules as they face GT

I once read an article in which each ACC team was "analyzed" briefly by a couple of conference coaches incognito. One of them said, in so many words, about Tech: "...they are absolutely the worst team to face in a quick turnaround because everything they do on offense is different..."...
  10. 2017 Schedules as they face GT

We pretty much will have to win one or the other plus beat Virginia Tech. It is really quite extraordinary that so many of our opponents manage in one way or the other to secure bye weeks or some other scheduling advantage prior to playing us. It is as though the ACC intended to help them out...
  11. Ok Make your Statement

Now that is an interesting proposition. I really think playing Miami, Clemson, and Virginia Tech pays dividends in that regard. We are not intimidated by the array of 4 and 5 stars that UGA trots out every year. I also think that most years that we have won we have just proven to be...
  12. Ok Make your Statement

But, but, we have more NFL draft picks than those blue nosed Tarheels, or either of those Techmites (Virginia brand or GT) so we should have won a passel of Division championships by now. Amiright?
  13. Ok Make your Statement

Yep, always pining for past glories, always "next year", always complaining that someone somewhere has it out for them. That's Miami. Still a team with 9, count em, NFL draft picks has some serious talent. They are a force to be reckoned with especially in a topsy turvy division like the...
  14. Ok Make your Statement

Edit: Miami had 9 players drafted. More than Clemson, (which had 6), more than Tennessee (which had 6) more than FSU (which had 4) I did not realize they had that level of attrition. This may, or may not, bode well for us. Miami has talent, always has had talent, but is not the machine it...
  15. Ok Make your Statement

Any team with a Bud Foster defense is ALWAYS in the coastal mix.
  16. Ok Make your Statement

An excellent analysis of schedules. And here I thought we were the only ones with the hard schedule. As it always seems, the road to Charlotte goes through Miami (or Blacksburg take your pick) . We have to play better and be mentally tough. Those guys have been in our grill for years...
  17. Ok Make your Statement

This is pretty similar to what I envisioned. If Miami can get a good quarterback they will be a near top 10 team. That is a big IF though.
  18. Ok Make your Statement

I would take this right now, no questions asked.
  19. Ok Make your Statement

This is not as far fetched as some might think. This division is crazy in a good sort of way. GT, Miami, UNC, Virginia Tech, Virginia, and Pitt (sorry Duke you got to more to prove) have all had their moments. Anything can happen in any given year.
  20. Ok Make your Statement

OK, Rev. Judging by your avatar you probably see the need to be ahem, "reformed" in your views concerning the Jackets (strictly TIC)
