  1. Fall Camp Thread

Naw, I am telling you its Calvin. I know those hands anywhere. (Great catch Stephen btw)
  2. Fall Camp Thread

Look, Reggie is back at quarterback! No offense, but that is a dead ringer for the famous Calvin spiderman catch against NC State thrown by Reggie.
  3. For This to be a Special Year

Branch, Adams, and Glanton all need to make significant improvement followed by the linebackers. If we are better on defense, this could be a special year.
  4. Opposing Coach Comments in Athlon

Talk is cheap. We will see who is pointing at the scoreboard at the end of the game. "...near the bottom of our league..." and other such rubbish. How, pray tell, does this knowledgeable source explain the 9-4 record? Damn, that Johnson got lucky for the second time in three years. What's...
  5. Questions for CPJ & Players - GT Media Day 2017

Hard to say but it seems that well over 70% are not triple option. A lot of that depends upon the quarterback skill set and so forth. Probably varies a good bit from year to year. This year I would not use it very much at all with MJ until he becomes comfortable with the pitch. IMHO
  6. Questions for CPJ & Players - GT Media Day 2017

OK, serious question. Which offensive and defensive player has, in your estimation improved the most since the start of spring practice until now? Does NOT have to be a starter.
  7. Defensive recruiting!

Yep. Mr. Two Star himself. Didn't have the uh, "measureables" don't you know.
  8. "Bag Men"

"Bag men exist" By now, I don't think anyone doubts it. These people are living vicariously through athletes just to be noticed. A sad commentary on what is going on in college football today.
  9. "Bag Men"

Your sentiments and your heart is in the right place but do you honestly think it would make any difference to the NCAA if we caught one of them red handed on video with "Benjamins" scattered about like so much confetti?
  10. Defensive recruiting!

Then you mean like Albany's own Daryl Smith, the peerless Phillip Wheeler, the immortal Darryl Richardson and who can forget Mr. Vance Walker. You mean recruits like those guys? Hadn't seen any like that lately. We will keep looking Kai Michael Hall clones in the meantime.
  11. "Bag Men"

"Thrifty" you say. Listen, my dad and my brother in law were both Tech graduates and made a good living at what they did but both of them could squeeze a nickle so hard it would come out a quarter.
  12. "Bag Men"

You have to understand the mentality involved here. These people have limitless capacity to rationalize their behavior in any given set of circumstances. The only reason why some of them are not criminals is that they lack the drive and ambition to become one.
  13. Defensive recruiting!

The "pitch" should go something like this: "If you want to be a BMOC and the toast of Atlanta town all you and your teammates have to do is get one three and out per half and a couple of turnovers and the key to the city is yours" Is that what you had in mind? Never mind, I saw where you...
  14. "Bag Men"

Not having "bag men" is the least of our recruiting problems. As to your question of how widespread this practice is, the correct answer in my opinion is nobody knows. However, as one poster said it is widespread where you would expect it to be: UGA, LSU, Alabama, Miami, FSU, Auburn, Ole...
  15. Preseason Accolades

Yep. For those who are not familiar with the ancient history. Sideways was a mongrel dog that took up residence on the Hill during the late 1940s. He was called "Sideways" because he had been injured by a car and walked, well sideways. At any rate, his favorite spot was outside the old...
  16. Preseason Accolades

Interesting but I am more interested in POST SEASON accolades. Let's play ball.
  17. Preseason Accolades

My father class of 1950, textile engineering was difficult to deal with at times but loved his family, his country, and Georgia Tech. 1962 upset of Alabama? I was there courtesy of my dad. 1965 upset of Texas Tech in the Gator Bowl? My dad and I were there. 1966 upset of 8th ranked...
  18. Preseason Accolades

Tech is habitually characterized as one of the most difficult teams to handicap but half the Coastal is seemingly Jekyll and Hyde as well. Miami is an enigma, Virginia Tech still has an empty trophy case but is a nightmare to play against because of Coach Foster, Pitt has just enough players...
  19. Preseason Accolades

Well in that case maybe the scheme needs to be changed. AJ is one of our top two or three players and needs to be in on the action as much as possible. I don't think it is "crappy" necessarily it just does not have the star power that the Atlantic has. The Atlantic has a Heisman winner, the...
  20. I love our OL!

He will "get the system down" you wait and see. He and Marshall are the most athletic tackles we have ever had. IMHO
