What does Kentucky's recruiting class have to do with anything? The point is we are not Ole Miss/Kentucky, etc. and shouldn't strive to be.
As I said in my intro, a defeatist mentality and excuse making gets us nowhere. We've won big before at Tech and can do it again.....with integrity.
With all do respect.....this attitude is the problem. We need to stop with the excuses when we can't play fundamental football. Ole Miss, which is a complete opposite of us, limped out with a win. What's their excuse for say....the last 25-years?
This is a great point 33. All offenses have weaknesses and this is one. I think PJ is trying to go bigger on the OL. It seems as if we got manhandled against the better dlines.
Louisville is a god athletic addition to the conference, though I am curious to see how they respond to a full ACC schedule and the graduation of Bridgewater.
I'm not sure this southern boy will ever get used to seeing Pitt and Syracuse in the ACC. Given what's done, it would seem advantageous...
Maryland made a bad decision IMHO. They anticipated the collapse and/or minimization of the ACC due to the rapid conference realignment at the time and the allure of a bigger payday from the BIG10. It is now very questionable if there will be a sustained benefit to them, regardless of the B10's...
I really can't see JUCOs providing any consistent players to our program. Other than a few isolated instances, they typically are not a good academic fit for us.
Any idea on Wilson's speed? I would love to see a set with Hunt-Days and another good size A-Back, similar to the Jones-Allen-Dwyer sets. Jones played larger than his size and AA was a beast on the edge with speed to take it to the house. Just ask FSU.
I wonder this as well. Charles Kelly was very high on Hankins before he left. Regardless, we need JHD to turn into a beast and find a DT opposite of Gostis to keep the OL honest. We haven't had 2 quality tackles since Walker and Richard left.
I was watching some games from the early 90s the other night. The Fridge was the best offensive mind in college football at one time. He ran multiple sets, including the option, and was an unconventional and strategical genius.
He was also extremely meticulous. I recall attending his camps as...
Great write up and thanks for the insight.
Gostis seemed to get stronger each game; however, we seem very average beyond him. I sure hope the light bulb clicks on for Kallon.
Maybe some of the folks that keep up with recruiting can let us know if our redshirts or commits look promising.
I am a life long GT fan, graduated in 98 with a degree in civil engineering and former player (not a big name guy). My dad played a year for Coach Dodd and I've been going to games since I can remember. I have 3 daughters that I dress in white & gold a converted my wife, who is a UGA grad...
