  1. Pitt. @ G.T.(12:20 p.m.)

All of that makes sense from a coaching perspective. Thank you.
  2. Pitt. @ G.T.(12:20 p.m.)

Yep. Sad to say that we were treated better by the SEC years ago than we are by the ACC tobacco road mafia. It's not so bad that they are so biased towards UNC in particular but the incompetence makes it worse. A clown show to be sure.
  3. Pitt. @ G.T.(12:20 p.m.)

Been there, done that. my sympathies I hope they enjoy the game. I was 8 years old in 1962 when Mom and Dad started taking me. My mother almost got into a fight with a drunk Alabama fan at Grant Field who insisted on spilling his drink on her dress. Fortunately, the police intervened...
  4. Pitt. @ G.T.(12:20 p.m.)

Back in the day, (when Dodd was coaching) our kickoffs were at 2:00 to accommodate the numerous out of town fans Tech had in those days. TV be damned we played at 2:00 pm and if you wanted us on TV then you best make sure the cameras were ready at 2. But times change so now we have to...
  5. Pitt. @ G.T.(12:20 p.m.)

I have heard that Coach Johnson does prefer noon time kickoffs but does anyone know WHY that is?
  6. Pitt's fanbase is INSANE

Well, we kind of went crazy in 2015. "Unrealistic expectations" are part of the deal in college football. A team has a pretty good season and is entertaining as Pitt was last year then the fans expect the same the next year even with pretty significant graduation losses, coaching changes etc...
  7. UF vs TENN

He is pretty good but UGA has a better tandem and more talent on both offense and defense. They look to be the real deal but we will see when they play Mississippi State who ran LSU slap dab out of Scott Field. If Coach Orgeron did not know what cow bells sound like I bet he does now.
  8. UF vs TENN

Forget the Florida D. I got tired watching the Gator offense go three and out time and again during the second half. It's a wonder that the Gators did not duplicate the infamous "Florida Flop" like they did sometime in the 1960s against Miami. The entire Florida defense simply laid down and...
  9. UF vs TENN

Unfortunately, piling up double oh let's be generous triple the number of yards, first downs, possessions, or anything else connected with the Gator offense is not as impressive as it once was. One Florida wise crack making the rounds is that the "Gators could not score if they were prison...
  10. UF vs TENN

Opinions will vary. Personally, I do not think Tennessee is very good. Now I have a unfavorable opinion of the Gators as do a goodly portion of their fan base. I was scheduled to go to the game with an alumnus who decided at the last minute to watch the debacle unfold on TV. His succinct and...
  11. Predictions for the Central Florida game

I think it is entirely possible that this game will be cancelled.
  12. Duke is going to be a handful this year-

Really? That is hard to believe unless he knows something that we don't. Could be as they have been notorious underachievers for the better part of a decade or more now.
  13. Duke is going to be a handful this year-

I hate to admit it but he is a good coach. I think Tennessee really blew it when they did not get him when they had the chance. Giving that guy an extra week is just asking for trouble.
  14. Jacksonville State Postgame Discussion

Can also lose to anyone as we saw with Duke in 2015, Middle Tennessee State, and Virginia in 2015. Generally, those times have particular circumstances that have, as a rule not been repeated much of late. Depth, especially on defense, is an ongoing concern so we will see.
  15. Jacksonville State Postgame Discussion

Makes sense. Coach Johnson said something in the post game press conference about the offensive line being most affected by the short week and playing a lot of snaps in an emotional loss to Tennessee. They did look like they were having problems with Jax State's line.
  16. Jacksonville State Postgame Discussion

Yes it would along with a couple of the Virginia Tech games that I am too lazy to look up at the moment, not to mention that 2014 win over Miami.
  17. Jacksonville State Postgame Discussion

Those two drives sure did eat up a lot of clock but yes this was one of the few times it could be argued that the defense outplayed the offense. Note: I said COULD be argued.
  18. Jacksonville State Postgame Discussion

Yep, it was but seems to have intensified somewhat of late especially the part about beating teams that most observers (going by recruiting rankings, stars, and such) would not anticipate Tech to even be competitive with much less win. See Clemson 2011, UGA 2014, UGA 2016, FSU 2015, etc.
  19. Jacksonville State Postgame Discussion

Well, this has been a cherished Tech tradition since Coach Johnson got here. Win a couple you have no business winning and lose maybe one that you have no business losing. It is what it is.
  20. Jacksonville State Postgame Discussion

True I am just wondering how beat up and bruised we are coming out of this game.
