  1. Just thought I would leave this here...

Have you seen pictures of new stadium on the Brazos and opening day? Really beautiful.
  2. Just thought I would leave this here...

SHSU is up the road from me about 30 miles and Fritz is a good coach. He is more a concern than his players. GT can't run away playing sloppy as we did last week at NOLA but we have lots of horses also and team that will get it together Saturday. They have a goal and it is not to lose...
  3. Opponents Strengths & Weaknesses: GSU

GS can put together an OL the size of Tulane with more experience, couple of seniors and couple of Jrs. Size is not the most important thing. I see this game as one that could be an upset only if we don't show up. I hope they are tough so we can use it as a true tune up for Vpisu. I am...
  4. Quick poll on the pulse of the fanbase....

Agree with what you said. Vad is a great young man, from what I could tell, of his involvement at Tech. I too wish him the best in football and more importantly in his future life as he grows into maturity and future responsibilities.
  5. CPJ Press Conference

Where has football helped the academic side of a school? High school or college or university? Standards are compromised to allow admission of better players. How does this help academics? I am glad we have a competitive football and athletic program while maintaining our academic reputation...
  6. Quick poll on the pulse of the fanbase....

Until someone can show me a coach, that can overcome the obstacles of the Institute and do better than CPJ and staff are doing, I am behind him (them) all the way. He came here to win a national championship. Will he be able to do it? I don't know, but as long as he thinks he can, I am behind...
  7. Monday injury report

CPJ said Brigham will be available. We seem to be in good physical shape. Hope it holds through this game and we are in as good a shape for vpisu
  8. What do we know so far?

Did Klock play this week? how much? how about Kallon on D?
  9. GT vs. VT set for Noon Kickoff 9/20

One game at a time. I hope the team is looking to correct mistakes and show what they got next Saturday against GS. THEN Think about vpisu
  10. Tulane OL

I hate losing to Foster but his D can be tough. Seems to mix it up and have a 6th sense of when to call what.
  11. Ga Southern

Over all and depth wise maybe but looks like GS has some really good talent. I hope this is game we get it together from start to finish and is precursor for win in Blacksburg.
  12. VT v Ohio State

[ He is legit. Not quick as a runner but good passing presence. Bud Foster knows how to D. The timing of the DBs of VT in hitting receivers is amazing. So often so close to interference. Also when they blitz it is all out fast and seem to find a seam. For VT to win before 107000 OSU...
  13. QB Play

We have a much better receiving corp this year also. IMO shorter with yards after catch is the game today and I am OK with it. We will get the long bombs also with JT; he has the arm. I hope our D can tackle and limit opponents YAC.
  14. Guess What Day it is....

Yep! Go Jackets! Surf the Wave!
  15. How to Tackle by Seahawks Pete Carroll

I hope CTR sees this. How did the game get away from shoulder wrap up in the vicinity of the of the gut, thighs, hip tackling. Good blocking is similar, just can't wrap up. The hawks practice WO out pads and work on proper angles etc. The video not using Oklahoma drills. Based on Rugby...
  16. Tulane OL

Or that blinding Eastern Washington Red
  17. Wofford Game Thoughts and Little Perspective

I agree but we need to get Byerly some playing time this weekend. Also need to get Kallon some playing time and see how he responds. Is my imagination but did Tulane not look as well coached as Wofford?
  18. Tulane OL

From internet search; Sustainable Shaw Sportexe Turf System. Seems to be similar
  19. Tulane OL

Good point about the rule change that allows holding on the offense today. In that day your hands had to stay in and not extend. 50 sounds a little high but that was Orange bowl 1963 I think. Too long ago to remember accurately.
  20. Tulane OL

I never played on artificial. I didn't realize it varied much except wet or dry. I don't think they have been on it very much. Is this a different type artificial than we have on our practice field?
