  1. Season Tickets

Sadly, there is lots of inventory available. I have 8 season tix and every year they ask if I want more. Hoping that turns around soon!
  2. GT Hoops General Topics

there are rumors about Goodluck's academic eligibility for next year, so I think he sort of forced his own hand
  3. GT Hoops General Topics

Really hoping we can start scheduling better non-con teams soon. Would be good to see a few tough opponents in McCamish, esp once CJP has a couple of years to get the talent level back up
  4. Why do we stay with Russell Athletic?

Could be a great recruiting tool for Apple or Google... market your brand on our athletes and get great exposure to some of the best technical undergrads and grad students in the world
  5. Why do we stay with Russell Athletic?

Using the logic in the thread (private schools can "hide" poor students), I guess Harvard, Yale, et al must pale in comparison with public institutions like UVA, UNC, Michigan... SMH
  6. Why do we stay with Russell Athletic?

UCLA still has very strong fan base west of the Rockies. Out there no one gives a rip about the SEC or Big 10 or ACC. Looks like UA is trying to get a big name and there are only a few (UCLA, USC, Arizona, Stanford, etc) Oregon is off the table until Phil Knight dies or Nike goes bankrupt.

I don't think there's a guarantee of home game every other year in this made-for-ESPN fiesta. The Lords of Bristol figure out the matches they want and then try to balance out the undercard, so to speak. If you look at the "real" ACC teams, their Big 10 schedule looks like this...
  8. Kenny Anderson Documentary Coming Soon

Incredibly fun player to watch when he was in his prime
  9. ACC Discussion

Clearly, old age is catching up to me. 15.6 ppg and 5.8 rpg. 42% overall FG and 34% from 3. (those are frosh stats) I don't know why I have this memory of him being a slow starter, but it's obviously not accurate. Gotta go back and see if I've got him mixed up with someone else from...
  10. ACC Discussion

My memory is clearly not helping me on this one. He won ACC Frosh of the Year. I remember him getting off to a very very slow start in Dec and Jan but have forgotten his strong Feb and Mar. I'll try to find game by game stats from fresh year. He made big strides in back half of the year...

If Brey and Larranaga are making about the same as Brownell and Manning, they are being seriously underpaid. Just sayin...
  12. ACC Discussion

Remember "Black Falcon" Barnes was #1 recruit in America and was mediocre (at best) as a frosh. Not a matter of too many players, he just wasn't very good. He blossomed later and has really found a great niche being a role player with Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.

In the ACC, there are a group of established coaches that deserve top dollar: K, Ol Roy, Boeheim, Pitino, Brey, Larranaga, Hamilton. Bennett is in that group now, too. The next tier is mid-career guys who have established a track record but are not elite: Buzz, Gottfried, Stallings. Then...

Ol Roy had that same uncanny ability when he was at Kansas. He gets in 5 star recruits and then coaches them to wildly underperform expectations for three or four years before going on to mediocre careers in the league (or D league). Marcus Paige would've been a late lottery pick after his...

Do you mean the 50 undergrads that show up at all games or the couple hundred that make it out for UNC, Duke and Louisville. It's embarrassing to see all the empty seats most games. Hoping that CJP will get the energy back and get the students to come out and be vocal. We need to get...
  16. Pastner Wardrobe Watch

Wonder if he lectured Ol Roy about the evils of golf? Huckleberry Hound has been known to play a few rounds every week in Chapel Hill

    CJP with Ol Roy????

Not sure what the constant Zubaz refs are about. His pants ain't Zubaz. Look like Dockers or similar. Zubaz were the crazy zebra striped sweats that coaches wore in the 90's, weren't they?

Will be interesting to see how season ticket sales go this year. I hope they are at least as good as last year, given the change in coach. Ultimately, if CJP is able to put an entertaining team on the court, it should help ticket sales and attendance. We've got a gorgeous facility. It...
