Braves should be all over this. I wouldn't mind Harper at 10 years $300 but that's only because barring something crazy, he would opt out in three years. It's a different situation compared to Puljols to me because he was so old and Harper is just entering his prime.
To see the comments to that specific tweet, just click on the tweet itself. Then all the replies to that tweet will be underneath it. You just have to be careful about where you click because Ken's name it will take you to his profile, hashtags will take you to a feed of tweets using that...
I think going from one game to two/three is where the novelty wears off and you won't have "marquee" opponents for every game. I think even those of us that see this is a good idea would agree that two or three games is a bad idea because then you don't have the six games in BDS that Tstan has...
This is basically correct. I don’t know the exact numbers, but the suite holders/top dollar PSL holders are definitely guaranteed seats but they aren’t even promised their exact seats to my knowledge. The higher the PSL you have, the higher you are on the pecking order. If you have a 300 level...
I have a PSL at the stadium and that’s not how it works. We only own those specific seats for Falcons games. Any other event, we just get first crack at seats before the general public. I’m sure that the AMB foundation will try to work a deal with GT so that some seats are available in every...
Unfortunately the last couple years, only having games at BDS haven’t been enough incentive for most alumni to buy tickets. The diehards are always gonna be season ticket holders and the plan is to still have six games at BDS every year of the deal.
If the extra game at MBS encourages more...
I don’t think we would every tear down GF because we sell it as the oldest and winningest field in CFB. Personally, I think BDS and the old concrete stands under it all need to go, even though it is a cool piece of history. Build a new stadium around GF that is completely connected, has field...
I haven’t seen anywhere say specifically that we will control all in game aspects but, to me, that seems implied by it being a GT home game. Haven’t seen anywhere say we don’t control those things, and I agree that it won’t feel like a home game if we don’t get that control.
From what I understand, the four games outside of 2022 are home games and we control tickets. The way it was worded for the CFA kickoff game, I got the impression that we would have better options and more seating than when we played against Tennessee but not complete control like the other four.
I walked back and forth to the GA Dome multiple times during my time at Tech. It’s doable and as safe as downtown Atlanta can be. It helps when there is an event going on, especially one Tech is participating in because people are out in all areas between the two locations.
Not even the point and classic deflection of the question. If something special happens in the MBS games, fans will remember it. Regardless that it’s not a bowl game. Regardless that it’s in an NFL stadium. Regardless that it is only marquee to Tech fans.
And just so it’s not lost on anyone, I...
Adding the previous stuff for context. You said NFL stadiums have a shelf life so plays won’t be remembered as fondly because the shelf life is 25 years. I agreed that memorable plays are better in BDS, but brought up the JT play because it was in an NFL stadium and we remember that, but your...
That’s not entirely true. Beating Clemson at home for a 3pm game on ESPN2, isn’t the same as beating Clemson in the CFA kickoff game that’s nationally televised on ESPN with no other CFB game on at the same time.
So a nationally televised game, at night, on ESPN, against a marquee opponent, in a NFL stadium?
That kinda sounds like one game on our schedule for the next five years starting in 2020.
I agree that it’s better at BDS, but I think we all remember JT5 breaking both ankles of the Miss. St. player for a TD in the Orange Bowl. Beating ND in MBS will be a huge deal and every Tech fan will be sure to bring it up in future meeting with ND. We just need to show up and win some of these...
I mean those aren’t really equal comparisons since they are already national brands that are competing for championships. I think a school like TCU or Texas Tech, teams that have good years occasionally but are truly trying up their brand, would jump all over the opportunity. I think it’s...
Because a night game on ESPN is more exposure than a 3pm game on ESPNU. These games aren’t guaranteed night games at BDS because uGA isn’t even a guaranteed night game when it’s at BDS.
If that were to happen they would likely realign the divisions and we would have Clemson put in our division. Pod system would be the likely outcome of a 16 team league because it makes scheduling more manageable.
They are remodeling the edge center which is attached to BDS. I would imagine that construction is planned to be done by the start of the season but construction has delays, especially in Georgia, so having an extra week or two of buffer is probably a good idea.
