There was a GT rusher bearing down on him fast which caused him to throw it before he was set and was the likely cause of the poor pass. In fact I was at the game and originally thought the ball was tipped as the rusher was that close.

He is older and played more than the other three and brought good pressure when he was in there. I noticed him several times. He moves very well, and not backward. He played in several games in obvious passing downs and IMO looked good. Time will tell who is correct.

In our day rule of thumb was any part of the other 6 players (other than the C) should be even or ahead of the centers waist to be legit on the LOS.

I remembered what Lasky did to uga in 2014 in the red zone, and then did it again. After Mills plowed in for the third score I expected him to get it from the six as many times as it took. The wide plays surprised me. I would have been OK with Marshall as well after the way he was running.

And right now IMO Branch is way ahead of Adams, Martin, or Woods and has the best chance to be a 2017 starter of the bunch..

Subbed a lot at DE, not so much at DT. Gamble probably went all the way. I was impressed (again) with the limited play of Branch who I believe will be a DT starter in 2017.

Agree that our DL gets pushed around pretty bad and they certainly lack a pass rush. But they do hustle and hang tough. Most runs over 5 yards are a result of our LBs not finding the ball, overrunning or hitting the wrong gap, or not getting unglued from blocks. If we could get better LB play...

If things go the way I hope MJ will pass when not expected and be effective. When we have to pass or come from behind late in the game, and the D knows we have to throw, I expect to see LJ in there. This is not CPJs normal action but the personnel may dictate it.

It was not that apparent at the game but the TV replay shows clearly that several players facing south were having trouble squinting and shading their eyes from the sun. On that play Stewart was looking directly into the sun and was probably the reason for the drop.

I tend to agree. I especially dislike the technique we seem to be using in the DL (to put both hands on the blocker, square up and push). This seems to lead to a long struggle to get off the block when required and an even longer struggle to push that blocker into the passer. It also results in...
