    Todd McShay On Attaochu

That trade hurt their depth but I don't blame last year on the trades. At one point, the Falcons had 62% of their payroll on injured reserve. I don't care what your team name is, who your coach is, or even if Superman is playing QB for your team....you will not win games in the NFL with that...

    Todd McShay On Attaochu

That's why you're not an NFL GM! :) I think Jeremiah goes in the 3rd or 4th round. Jemea will likely be an undrafted FA. IMO, no way in HELL the Falcons need to draft an OL. Everyone talks about Matthews but I watched 4 A&M games this year and guys were going around Matthews like he was...

    Spring Position Battle - QB

Let's don't forget that he'll have to play when JT's helmet comes off.....still one of the stupidest rules in all of college football IMO.

Paul Johnson recruiting Q&A with AJC

Not technically true anymore now that they've set up the new "pre letter of intent" that can be signed prior to signing day. It doesn't commit the kid to come to the school but it has a few advantages for the coach & the kid. A kid who has signed one of these can be contacted by coaches freely...

    Spring Position Battle - QB

You guys should know that both TW and VL were taught by Coach Johnson, "If the pitch is in danger, keep the ball & turn up field". That would be followed by a statement about how every drive should end in a kick. Ideally, that's an extra point or a FG but a punt isn't going to kill you like a...

Paul Johnson recruiting Q&A with AJC

What? I don't think Vandy had better talent than UGA, Missouri, or South Carolina. Him not getting past SC or Missouri to get to the SECCG isn't exactly an indictment. I don't know how good the guy can be but he certainly did change the perception of Vandy football pretty quickly.

    Spring Position Battle - QB

Said it before, I'll say it again. I don't care if Superman starts at QB. If the line plays like they did last year, we will stink up the joint. All due respect to Boomergump, but I just went back and rewatched the VT, Miami, and Clemson games. When our QB is taking a 3-step drop and getting...

Paul Johnson recruiting Q&A with AJC

Considering the source was Carvell, that was a pretty good interview.

MySouthernJacket, How is your QB's arm? If you have an athletic QB who has experience in the triple option but also has a good arm, I honestly think the transition to this offense is easier than most would think. The question mark then becomes how good are your WR's? Because if your guys can...

CPJ laying the wood to the media

See you made my point. All about wins & losses. Death wins! :)

Why we had a 7-6 record

Look, I HOPE that JT has a lights-out, break out year. However, it is my opinion that putting all of your eggs in one basket like CPJ did is incredibly risky. I don't think he should have split the repetitions or anything; that's not what I'm saying. But having Vad still in the game when...

Why we had a 7-6 record

I sure did. And you know how Joe Hamilton got better? It wasn't because he got to be a year older; it was because he struggled through his freshman year....getting repetitions. Unfortunately, JT never got those reps. Next year, he will still be a "redshirt freshman" as far as experience go...

CPJ laying the wood to the media

You may be right about FSU. But, like us, Clemson has to learn to handle their in-state SEC rivals before they can claim that they can compete on the national level. They are definitely getting better though. Problem is, I just don't see any other ACC teams being able to compete at that...

CPJ laying the wood to the media

You're absolutely correct. In 2013, the ACC's very best one team beat the team that came out of the SEC as the best team. But, how did we match up across the board of the "elites" with them? According to CPJ, we're top 4 in the ACC. We lost to UGA who isn't even in the top 4 of the SEC...

CPJ laying the wood to the media

Really? We were 7-6 and received 0 votes for Top 25. Fresno State finished ranked #27 in AP rankings and received 57 votes. Northern Illinois finished #28 and had 22 Top 25 votes. I'd trade places with them in a heartbeat. Regarding would those 4 who finished in the Top 25 trade places with...

CPJ laying the wood to the media

Well I guess you and I will just have to agree to disagree. But I'll finish the conversation with one final point. When you think back to Bobby Dodd, or Bobby Ross, or George O'Leary....when people talk about them, whether it's your friends or the media or you...how many times do you say...

CPJ laying the wood to the media

Actually this thread was really about CPJ and his comments to the media. He's contending that he's coaching the players up and that's the reason we're 4th best in the ACC in wins. My point is that he's choosing the stat that makes him look the best...much the same way that his detractors want...

CPJ laying the wood to the media

Great. So we're 4th in the ACC in wins. Now name me which team was 4th in wins in the SEC last year...same with B1G, same with Pac 10? Point is...no one gives a crap about that. And you can doubt all you want. But I can assure you I care about the W's and the L's and that's it. As far...

CPJ laying the wood to the media

I don't disagree with you about the conferences. I know they all have top/mid/bottom teams...even the SEC. I have never argued otherwise. But don't you think it's a sad state of affairs when BYU has dominated us two years in a row? A team that isn't even in the top 25? And we're using them...
