Sims got his chance. He performed spectacularly and won that game for us. Good for Sims. Good on Yates and good on the coaches for managing what could have been a very tricky situation. Now, I do still worry about Sims accuracy as a passer. BUT he clearly has earned his starting job back, imho.

Over the years, I have seen SEC teams over and over again get phantom calls late in games where a shock upset is in the making, which have turned the tide for the SEC team. Always seems to happen in their home stadiums against lesser opponents. SEC refs??

This. First of all, I agree with @forensicbuzz about the principle involved. But beyond that, there are multiple, logical reasons to want to give Sims more chances: Yates is graduating after this season and who knows whether he will come back to play next year. Might we not want to develop...

I hear what everyone says about Sims, and want to believe. But he simply hasn't shown it in games. How many L's do we take before we decide that Yates is the better chance for W's? We already took one this year so far (imho). I REALLY hope Sims is a great guy who bounces back and out-preforms...

I am pleased with yesterday. I remain skeptical about the full season. Will we be the team that lost to Northern Illinois? Or the team that nearly beat Clemson on the road? I have NO idea.
