That was 1969 when GT got screwed against Duke and Tulane and should have been 6-4. I wish i could find the highlights of the 1969 6-0 win over Georgia.
GT went 9-3 losing 17-6 to 11-1 Tennessee,31-7 to 9-2 Auburn and 10-7 to 10-1 Notre Dame and finishing in the top 20. That was a darn good GT football team and it was a mistake for Bobby Dodd to fire Bud Carson after the 1971 season in my opinion.
It wouldn't surprise me if GT pulled an upset and beat Tennessee in the new Falcons stadium to start 2017. GT will catch Tennessee having to replace their quarterback Dobbs and running backs Hurd and Kamara as well as five starters off of their 2016 defense.
If GT is 6-6 or worse do you think Paul Johnson will be coaching against Tennessee to open the 2017 season? I think he'll have a blazing hotseat if GT is worse than 7-5.
I think they will win the SEC title with a 10-2 record and edge out 9-3 UGAG. Tennessee is going to be very stout on defense and will have a great running game. The only minus to Tennessee is Josh Dobbs doesn't have the arm to go deep with any consistency. I wish Coach Johnson would have...
I live in the middle of nowhere(a couple of miles from the Tennessee-North Carolina border) so if you drive two miles away you get a dead spot for all cellular services.
