Just chewing on a bone here but….it’s been 7 years since Northwestern has beaten an ACC team and 10 years since Vanderbilt has beaten an ACC team yet the perception is somehow that these teams are as strong as the bottom teams in the ACC.
Again, proving that the current down state of SEC...
I understand in theory what you are saying but I even wonder if “several teams like Vanderbilt” is just one more example of how SEC bias has subliminally affected us all and how we see things. I’m now going to go check and see what Vanderbilt’s winning percentage is against the ACC and see how...
Speaking of coaching demeanor, Stoudamire isn’t quite as chill as John Wooden was at UCLA, but he’s pretty close. Both have that approach of “we’ve covered all of this in practice, and other than a few teachable moments, most things are out of my control at game time so I will just study what...
Yep. I have no basis to dispute the call but quite odd. I’ve seen plays much more clear cut where they showed multiple replays from multiple angles, slowed it down, enlarged a still shot, etc., and I’m screaming “we got it, we got it, make the call already!”
Not sure what you are disagreeing with. We both are saying there is no way the SEC was going to get left out, no matter what the scenario was or how many times the narrative had to change to make that happen.
My point is that the SEC has been relentless for decades pushing a narrative and...
Why should we let something rest that gives so much wicked pleasure?
“Hey, Quentin Tarantino, why did you make ‘Inglorious Bastards,’ can’t you give this Hitler stuff a rest!?”
I was curious about the UCF interception. I was willing to believe several things at once -the ball didn’t hit the ground, the Tech receiver had actually caught the ball before it was taken away, the UCF player got both hands under the ball, and that reviews confirmed the call on the field...
Yeah, I thought of those epic FSU and Miami games. They fit the pattern. Two undefeated, nationally ranked teams, with championship aspirations and a desirable game for TV viewers and sports pundits.
I keep meaning to look up what year it was (I was young) but I recall a TV night game in...
If I may speak for him, what the ACC needed to do to get FSU in the playoffs they should have started doing 30 years ago. The SEC came up with a consistent narrative that they pushed through good seasons and bad seasons. The B1G also was consistent with their brand. Both conferences showed...
Wondered if anyone else had that question.
I did not like them. The GT should always be solid, emblematic of a solid institution. A ghost image that is often hard to see seems like the exact opposite of what one would see on any big time program that is promoting its brand.
