    OL/qb... chicken/egg

Strongly agree. Last year it seemed we were more reactive to the defense than we are this year. When JT plays, the offense seems more aggressive, putting defenses, well, "on the defensive". Haven't heard many speak about this but some of his pitches are more aggressive (i.e. last second, more...

Justin Thomas for Heisman in 2015?

IMHO it will take 2 years for him to get strong consideration. A strong year with at least 2 high profile wins against Dwags, FSU, NotreDame with improved offensive numbers overall next year would put him in the 2016 preseason lists.

Shaq Mason named 1st Team All American by USA Today

Shaq =bull-dozer and dwag-dozer. Sooo many successful plays came off his blocks!!! Totally deserved!

    GT providing the blueprint

Good points! It is often not appreciated that with "read offenses" the interior d-line also has time to try to "read" the offensive play. Defensive players are used to recognizing a play e.g. "they are setting up for a screen pass", and then reacting as quickly as possible. With the b-back...

    GT providing the blueprint

Forgot to mention that it has been GREAT to see Tech being mentioned in such a positive light in numerous media pieces lately. This has got to have at least some positive recruiting impact.

    GT providing the blueprint

Would take our offense, run well, any day over theirs but if we swapped uniforms, I would be forced to root for them :) All I could think of during the Oregon-Oregon State game was that whoever selected the uniforms should be shot.

    Myths busted

Totally agree. In multiple years, we have been "an inch" away from having seasons that mirror this one, but were a step (e.g. slightly better defense) away from pulling it off. Now I believe we are at a point on offense where the odds favor us having 8-10 wins instead of 6-8. With a bit better...

"Getting back to what we do...."

I was excited to hear it since I enjoyed watching Southern during the Hamm days and loved their offense then. Candidly I have felt the offense was the strength of all CPJ teams but that Josh was a warrior who wasn't an option wizard and that Tevin ran the option very well but wasn't quite the...

my only thought is that schools should have a clear consistent policy. The policy would be public knowledge during recruitment. I doubt many kids think about switching schools initially, but should their situation lead them to want to change schools they should be referred to the school's policy.

    Coach's ALL ACC Awards

This just shows that we continue to be undervalued and my thought that we may be predicted to top our division next year is probably wrong:) I am disappointed for the players who deserve this type of recognition but not surprised.

    GT-FSU Postgame thread

And the great things is we should be able to watch it for several more years. The fact is that Tech can compete with the elite and everyone, knows it.

    GT (+7) vs. Miss St.

If we are 20 points underdogs it is fine with me. People are finally realizing that we are usually underestimated. My hope for this game is that the offense puts a nail in the coffin of the "if given time to prepare, a good defense will shut down Tech's offense" by putting up gaudy numbers...

    SEC Dominance?

Agree with the above. The SEC has never IMHO been "massively" better. The differences usually aren't nearly as big as people make them out. If we had a couple more turnovers this year, or caused a couple less, CPJ would still be on the hot seat and we would be at a low level bowl game. Change...

Might also be a help on the recruiting front as he can give recruits the facts about the dark side.

Article said he played "A" back in high school. If so he should be a quick study as well.

Thanks! FYI, It looks like my youngest daughter may be headed to Clemson next year so I will be trying to reduce my orange hatred to one game a year :)

    GTSwarm Awards Thread

This is too early, the current team is now my third favorite of All-Time and I hope they move up: Joey Hamilton Award (Best Player): Mason Overall MVP: Justin Thomas Offensive MVP: Smelter Defensive MVP: DJ White Breakout Player of the Year: Davis Frosh of the Year: Freeman Senior of the Year...

    Next domino in line: Arizona

One down. Arizona looked like they weren't in the same league as Oregon. Let's do the same thing to FSU!

    No Karlos Willams for FSU

Totally agree with Sidewalk. If we get up >10 points and are consistently moving the ball, running will not be their focus.

    Next domino in line: Arizona

Agree with supersize but worry that if the margin is very close, AZ might not fall below us if we "edge" out a FSU team that "should have already lost to a number of so so teams"
