The kids in Atl and GA are academically ill prepared and/or not interested in busting *** to survive at Tech. NJ otoh is much better academically and as Coach Ross demonstrated, the area can help us. GA and the SE has to remain our core though.
Well, they almost crapped the bed against T&M by playing him temporarily instead of their starter. All the drama in that game doesn't happen if he sits.
Yep, it's actually worse than you describe. Strictly fair weather group. If we had a vid with quality sound at the UF game when Quincy was QB, it would cost the dwags a lot of 4 & 5 star recruits. Their suck egg graduation rates don't seem to cost em, but this vid would. Some of their recruits...
CTR could tackle when he got off da bus the first day on campus---just like Swilling and Burnett. He was a tackling machine and coaching had very little to do with it. Tackling is a lot like height and speed---it's very difficult to coach. Of course now, we need to coach how to tackle in a...
Agree 684Bee, for the most part, but even though the Mitchell story is such a feel good tale, the fact remains that CMR knew full well that he was signing an illiterate (by college standards) player. Doing this at Tech would put the program out of business very quickly due to APR. And this from...
knoxjacket, not sure why you would say "even" L'ville since their admission standards are well above average, but their SAT avg is just over 1100 and their gpas average a B+. When your football team's avg SAT average is at or near the top of all public D-1 football teams average, you are...
CFB is special admits vs regular student body. GT has almost all special admits vs regular student body, otherwise no football team. The difference between Tech and the factories, is our Football Program standards are higher than most factory regular student standards. This means the factories...
Yes this is going to be a challenge, but with the OL they will be running behind for the next couple of years at least, it will likely turn out just fine, imo. Also we seem to be headed in the direction of larger/stronger ABs than years past which I believe will help.
Very well said 33. It's important for many reasons to jump from a 7-5 program to a 9-3 level. This can very well be "who we are" (especially with success on exceptions).
These teams have a long history of either not being down 2 years in a row or simply reloading. We have a chance to be better if additions on D pan out and very young A & B backs come through, but this IS a tougher schedule.
Nealy and Isiah have to fight against biting on the play action---easier said than done, but it's critical. Also hope at crunch time, Smelter gets isolated on Swann.
I expect for no specific reason, that Hill will be instrumental in this game.
